I have come to realize that oftentimes, many married women prefer to spend time with their kids in their own ancestral home than in their husband's home especially during the festive period.

When you ask some, they say they trust their people more than their husband's people. Infact, to some, when they travel home for Christmas, they spend most of the time and days in their fathers house and the argument is always that spending too much time in the husband's family side is tantamount to putting d children in harm's way but when it comes to their own side, they argue that d coast is always clear.

To d fathers here, is it something to worry about if ur wife falls into this category?

To d mothers, what is ur take on this matter?

Where I come from, children belong in their father’s ancestral home.
They only visit their umere-nne (mother’s home) occasionally or when necessary.

Both are cool depending on where you are most welcome

Husband's home oo, maternal home ooo none of the above.

Anywhere I am welcome, my hubby doesn't have any problem with wherever I decide to holiday

This coming Christmas and new yearwill be in my Uncle's house...... Mom's brother. His wife is so accommodating and welcoming, u wouldn't even know that we are inlaw.

The truth about this issue is that, married women are more comfortable with their own families than their husband families, because of family games and envy

So it's up to the man to follow her home just to make her happy, not that the man is comfortable with it

That's exactly what I mean, the woman's families understands them more than the man's family and they feel free with them

Mother's side are always the best people especially your mother's mom

Na for those wey dey travel go village for holiday sha.

Festive period or not, we don't spend holidays in the village.

I gave my wife alot of freedom, if it her family up she goes...

Though she's always with are family more during holiday break, because she's the last born, and very close to her mum more than others....

If she's travelling alone with the kids, it's more likely she will go to her own family where she feels more free. But it depends on how welcome and free she feels with her husband's family.

Besides, with husband's family, there might be too much expectations that she may not live up to, which they could use against her.

The most important thing is to enjoy the holidays and go to where you are most welcome.

Yea, I already did. I was deeply touched

To be honest I prefer my hubby's side for the comfort of my children, for mine comfort, I prefer my home because, I don't have to enter kitchen or do anything I don't want to, just lazy around the whole time and come back home.
