Ghana is poor and indebted. Deal with it.

These are all the countries who have gone for HIPC since the program began... At least for Africa.

Ghana is neither poor nor highly indebted because we have room to keep borrowing untill we hit 120% of GDP

GTC. The iconic building in the town. This is how it will look upon its completion next year.

This kind of infrastructure can only be found in developed countries.. Egypt should be next on the game.

The worst thing is in these long running real estate development squabbles ONLY the lawyers benefit ! Imagine the endless injunctions, filings and motions over the years, DAMN! This SINGLE case can easily put ALL the lawyers kids through Harvard to phd level!
Reminds me of the AACC centre Waiyaki Way. Every time passing by in the 80s I'd see it half finished. Construction began in the 70s! FINALLY, Moi said " finish the building or FK off and I'll pull it down!" IIRC it was completed by 87 thereabouts.

SHEEEIT!? So ALSCON worth 3 bn $ ay inception is now valued under 100 mn $!? Btw, aluminium is critical for aerospace, electronics and even construction . 3 yrs ago I said Ajaokuta should be scrapped. Installed in the 80s its now too outdated to compete with Chinese automated steel mills or Tata's technology.

Edit: I rmbr seeing whole page ads in 2001 extolling the virtues of Tinapa in a now defunct monthly. It was an imminent Manhattan/Dubai! I used to think anyone paying all this must be srs! That was LONG before I discovered the fakery of Naij.

Kazibure, ever heard of James Joseph Mungai? He died 2016 and the late Maguful attended his burial. He was made minister at 29 yrs?, the youngest ever and had a bro as a TPDF Maj Gen. Apparently the parents settled on Iringa tea plantations as workers in the colonial era.
The extended family here were the Kenyatta in-laws of Kikuyu town, the Mungais who had Njoroge Mungai as defmin late 60s, early 70s.
I've heard post Uhuru a number of Kyukes settled Morogoro and between Tabora and L Tanganyika. The land was surveyed by as much land as you can comfortably walk around.
Problem was a fly that laid maggots in your flesh with no healthcare whatsoever and complete lack of marketing of planted maize and cotton. This, NOT dangerous wildlife, lions, leopards and ISHYT made many give up- a few stayed.
In '65, some 300 or so more settlers were headed to Zambia but in a typically byatchlike move Nyerere warned Kaunda NOT to ACCEPT them. A, pity as maize grows in Zambia WITHOUT human intervention. A few did reach Zambia by individual effort and are STILL there.
This idea should've been taken further! We've a shortage of cultivable land here being 80% + ASAL. Instead many African leaders drop their pants bending OVER for displaced Boers and Rhodies to farm their soil! By now we'd have had a sizable regional diaspora akin to the massive NRI numbers in these parts.
Question: heard of Kikuyu settlers in Tz and numbers? I've only rough estimates.

Zambia has so much arable land but they are bonobos like Ghana. Totally messed up macro-economics.

People just love owning multiple homes

others do it, just to have something to dash to their children.
The Weija, Broadcasting Hills have the most unoccupied mansions in the country... Those properties gets fully occupied during Easter and Christmas when the ghosts returns.... wink wink
