Let me explain, when I caught it the main symptom I experienced first was muscle fatigue and weaknesses, which I associated with me just probably coming down with malaria as this was usually my experience with malaria, so in classical Nigerian mentality I bought some antimalarial just to be safe.

But some days in I noticed my sense of smell was gone completely, and not in the same way when if you have the common cold your sense of smell and taste is dulled, in this case I didn't have a stuffy nose, but it felt like someone flipped a switch in my nose turning completely off my sense of smell, nothing I put up to my nose had any aroma, not the strong oud perfumes in my room, not even the petrol I poured into the generator that day, and the worse part was food had zero flavour, I could taste salt,sweet,bitter or sour, but no flavour, I tried eating some noodles & rice that day and it tasted plain like cardboard with salt, zero flavouring.
This was when it hit me the major distinguishable symptom of covid19 was loss of smell, and I observed that most of my household experienced or was experiencing one from of sickness or another during the time, the pattern was my older sister and her kids all had severe cold symptoms which they recovered from, then my mom was sick and coughing which she recovered from, then me all in the same month. I could be wrong and it was not covid as non went and got tested, but it was awfully suspicious.
Anyway I quarantined myself mostly for the next two weeks, minimised contact with other people as I suspected it may had been covid, until the symptoms passed. Which were Muscle weakness, mild headache, loss of smell, coughing and later parosmia.
The bad part of the experience is the loss of smell, you will be surprised by how much that impacts your appetite, food no longer had any appeal, and I eat just to survive with zero joy. And the even worse part was 5 days after loss of smell, my sense of smell starts to return, but I think I was the only one, I know who experienced parosmia for the next 1 week. (Parosmia is a type of smell disorder in which odors become distorted.) Where I could finally perceive smells again, but everything smelt distorted and like burned meat or rubber, food with aromatics smelt totally awful and would make me gag, toothpaste smelt/tasted like bleach. I survived the next 7-10 days on plain rice with salt, and snacks like cornflakes as I could stand those, but food like chicken, or some kind of soup/stew were all distorted and awful.

Things finally returned to normal at the end, this experience made me really appreciate my senses. And this is my reservation for not going and getting vaccinated immediately as sometimes vaccinated patients experience some symptoms such as loss of smell, or parosmia and that is not an experience I ever want to go through again.

Glad for you it wasn't worse. I didn't have any symptoms after I received it, just mild pain at the injection site on my arm.
