My generator is working for almost 12 hours every day, how often is need to change the oil? Please see the picture below that's my generator

12 hours sounds a lot then it depends on the load . Your oil must be black by now.

No cause for alarm......just ensure d oil is changed monthly and use mobil oil.

1. When you buy brandnew generator, change the oil after the first month or after 20 hours. Whichever comes first.



2. Then change after 6 months or 100 hours whichever comes first.

Since you said it's 12 hours. That means you should change your oil after 8-9 days.




Note: Make sure you check the level of your oil before starting to avoid the engine damage.

You should change your oil every 60 hours or 2 weeks of running it daily @ minimum of 5 operational hours..

To get a good life span out of your petrol generator,

Do an oil change every 2 weeks of 5 hours daily usage (2 stroke cycle oil) and replace your spark plugs every 3 months,clean your carburetor and air filter every 3 months to get a good Air and fuel ratio in your combustion chamber.

Lastly,make sure your oil alert switch is tested after every oil change to avoid a locked up engine.

Change the settings to work more hours.

Manufacturer’s manual will help you better about oil change.

Make sure you check oil state regularly, drain when due use premium engine oil

I am probably lucky with this cos my gen goes off if the oil is due for changing ...I have been using it for about 4 years
