Here is little bit of personal finance advice on renting an apartment. Your house rent for a whole year should not be more than what you earn in a month. For instance, if your annual salary is 1.2 million, you should be looking for a 100k apartment. In most cases, you'll end up with a self contained apartment in a relatively decent neighbourhood.

When you do this, you'll notice that you have over a million naira to spend on furthering your education, getting certifications, investing in a business, investing in properties, investing in stocks and planning your settling down. You'll also have lower chances of developing high blood pressure and stress related illnesses.

I wish someone had told me this a long time ago, as I had to find this out the hard way. Anyway, I thank God that I am applying this in my life today and it's very helpful. I hope it helps someone else.

No. This is a studio apartment. We also call it self contained apartment here in Nigeria.
