Re: Who Can Solve This by FahBuLous: 12:09pm On Dec 04, 2021
A couple went for a picnic.

That fullstop makes it only one sentence...

So the answer is 2...

Two people went on a picnic. The rest of the story is meant to bamboozle you.

For those saying 13 or 11....this is nonsense as even if all of them went on the picnic, the answer would be ambiguous as no one is sure if the 5 sons were from different mothers or fathers.

The couple could be a woman or man with children from 5 different men or women.

37 in number

To do the calculation:

Start from the couple which is 2. They have 5 sons. 2+5=7. Then each son has 3 sisters. 5 x 3 = 15. 15+7= 22. Then each sisters has one baby . 1 x15 = 15. 22+15= 37

Re: Who Can Solve This by Psoul(m): 12:11pm On Dec 04, 2021
11
Explanation
5 sons + 3 sisters (3 sisters are same sisters to all the 5 sons) + 1x3(3 sisters have one baby each)
= 5 + 3 + 3 = 11
Wrong.
So you threw away the couple that was also mentioned.
The answer is 13 people if you want to adopt that logic.
But the statement never said the couple went to the picnic with all those people.
So it was only the couple that went for that picnic.
So the answer is 2 people.

Re: Who Can Solve This by legennd2: 12:16pm On Dec 04, 2021
break down: 2(couple), 5(sons), 3 (sisters each. since 5 sons are brothers, they have the same sisters), 3 (each sister's baby= 1x3)
2+5+3+3 = 13
13 persons went for the picnic
