He needs Pep's budget so he can buy more defenders?
grin

English Arsenal fans are far worse than their more sincere Nigerian counterparts.

See this...

The Defence gets 7× the passes attackers and Midfielders share between them. Very unimaginable. Very!!

Elneny Effect on Arteta.

Spy is someone that needs much convincing and by convincing he has to see it happen. Meanwhile I most times draw conclusions from data and I infer a lot. Reason it takes us long to agree on anything.

Better than you, I even pray that we win the league. But things don't happen that way. Prayers, hopes and aspirations are different from targets.

To be realistic, our target is at least 6th. That doesn't mean 1st isn't part of it. Read well.

the zeal and determination of someone who wants to make top 6 can never be same with someone who wants to make top 4 not to talk of someone who wants to win the league. you sound like someone who have never been in a competition(which i know and believe you've actually been in and conquered). arsenal needs ucl now more than ever. you as an independent plastic fan(sorry for the hard words) cannot say our target is top 6 when the coaching crew, board and owners have made it clear that getting back to ucl is the target.

Scoreline, ball possession, shots on goal, shots on target, no of tackles, no of interceptions etc aren't activity my brother. They are records of productivity. What do you put on your CV? If you can't provide stats of your performances no employer will take you.

At the bolded, isn't that question reasonable? Unless it's for tactical reasons, there is no justification benching your most prolific player.

You see why I said you are looking at activity not productivity? smiley
Lol, I guess Henry follow watch livescores too cos I don't see how anyone who watched that match will Still blame Arteta for removing Auba. Auba proved that day certainly wasn't his day, so why shouldn't he be subbed? I guess because it's Henry that said it, so you expect me to lap it all up as the gospel fact. Kole werk!!! grin grin. Same way pires is saying we need more defenders even after being 19th in chances created, creating single digit in big chance created from matchday 1-14 and having one of the fewest goals in the league. Lol

Stop comparing stats with CV, cos it's not that straightforward. Every football fans and even analyst knows that stats truly don't paint the full picture of a game, reason why it's advisable to watch match alongside using stats. I just showed you stats of arsenal match against man u and if you just look at that stats solely, you'll feel arsenal played man u well and was unfortunate to lose. But if you read comments on both threads, you'll find out that day that man u fans in their thread where quite happy with their play and pressing while arsenal fans here were moaning and complaining about our play (even while we were leading 1-0 sef). This is totally different from the stats results I displayed when I showed kokane

Except of course you'll say we wey dey both threads no know how to watch ball again grin grin

I am being realistic. Like I said, by the end of the last TW, our target was not to finish top 4. Please understand the meaning of target. My prayer is to even win the league but as far as targets are concerned, if one is going to be realistic then it's to finished at least 6th.
To be honest, as germa.phobe said, someone who's target in top4 will be more serious than someone who's target is top 6. I remember during Wenger's time, once we're first or 2nd, even if we lose the next three matches, the players wouldn't be bothered cos they're within the top 4 range, immediately they know their top 4 is in danger, they don't mind winning anybody even if you bring barca at camp nou. That's how ambitious they cherish top4. If this players target top6, even if top 4 dey up for grabs, they wouldn't be ambitious to grab the spot, as long as they're not below 5th or 6th.

And one thing I know is that this squad is okay to target for top4 not top6. Yes, we might not get top 4, but that doesn't mean it isn't realistic for this squad to compete for top 4. Aside our back 5, the midfield and attack have been together for more than a year, and it's not as if the back 5 are a kind of shambles sef

What was the target before the start of the season?

Well, yours may be different but officially it was to get back to Europe which is a top 6 target. Whether we eventually win the league or not becomes an added bonus.

By the way which squad is good enough for top4? The one you just posted up there that is 19th in creativity and needs more attackers?

Stay straight. Don't be gay man.

Just to mention, I find it funny how you guys can't get the actual meaning of top 4 or whatever. For clarification, it means from 1st to 4th or as the case may be. Does not necessarily mean 4th or below. Na wa o.

The target before the start of the season is to get back to UCL, especially as we have no European commitment this season.

So because we're 19th in big chance created now means we can't improve or it suddenly means we're so bad?. Leeds, Burnley and Newcastle are higher up the table than us on that, I guess they've better players than us? Na wa to you oo

Top 4 is first to 4th, but there are a lot of teams vying for that 4th position. We all know that 1st-3rd is on lockdown leaving that 4th spot up for grabs only. I don't know how you'll say we shouldn't compete for the 4th spot with Leicester, man u, west Ham and Tottenham. Na wa oo

Let us keep lowering the bar you hear, in no distant time na relegation go be our realistic target.

We once had that setup when we had Alexis. They have Zaha and all ball goes his way and its checkmating Man Utd well.

This should be on the coach and not because our players are missing chances. That should be what our coach is suppose to be working on not thinking of parking the bus.
Na only us go sack coach come lower the bar. This is Arteta 2nd full season yet na still top 6 we dey drag for. Tomorrow if dem sack Arteta, our focus will now be to be a mid table team

Henry meant that its shameful subbing off the origin of ginger. A captain can be subbed off when he's done a great job and thats the norm. So subbing off a captain is indirectly a testament to how poor things have been which Arteta isn't ready to notice right now.

If he isn't inspiring enough, snatch off the armband off him and put in on someone that will ginger the team.

I think we are the only 3rd team in EPL that has their attacker as Captain. Most are defenders and Midfielders. Just saying.

Whatever angle is read, Henry is right. He's more or less the spokesman for the Trio of himself, Vierra, and Bergie. Those guys hang out often.

Pires on the other hand is wrong. But Arsenal still need defenders. If any of two CBs injure, hope you know we got no exact replacement?

Tactical, we need the tip of a diamond middle cos its lacking. So defenders can wait for now. The Alexis is needed. If he is going to be the peak of our attack danger, i don't mind. Emirates need an Alexis again.

An Alexis and Ramsey.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by daveP(m): 4:58pm On Dec 05, 2021
UCL is the target. He's been vocal about that this season. But if he doesn't set the lapses and stupidlty aside, more dangerous and intentionally minded top4 teams would edge out Arsenal. They are there and have much more experienced permutative managers that know when to play and experiment and when to get absolutely serious and we die here attitude.

Arteta will be down this wicked foodchain if he continues in the way he approaches games.

See West Ham yesterday?

Look at Wolves vs Liverpool?

See the zest? The greed to get a draw? The anger to never left Liverpool get expressions?

They had a setup but ultimate frustration was the foremost tactic. And it worked.

That's how Emirates Should be. Not this atmosphere where after all the tactical lessons, its still the manager at the byline, waving and gesturing for pressing or defending.

Moyes will seat for 80mins and get a win.

Arteta will stand forever and still disappoint. Class dey abeg. And that class will be final deciders of who will enter top 6 if things don't get more rigid at Emirates.

Lol... There have been so many instances when a captain is subbed off. This isn't the first a captain will be subbed off during a game and neither is it the first time a striker who is subbed in match. I dunno where Henry is driving at but everyone who watched that match knows that auba body language in that match was poor. His halfhearted press, his poor shots and all. Why he is pointing finger at Arteta for subbing auba (who even missed a great chance sef) is what I don't understand.

As for the bolded, I really don't understand what you mean by that. So you mean Arteta should just take off auba captain band and give it to someone else, just because "he isn't inspiring enough"?? Not even because of attitude problem or sort, but because he's not inspiring enough. I have never heard of anything like that in any club no matter what. Even xhaka that was stripped off the armband was because of disrespect to the club and fans and not for anything called inspiration. In fact, even if a captain is no longer in starting eleven, hardly do I see that captain stripped off the armband, how much more Auba. I assure you, the day Arteta will try such is the day he should start counting his days at Emirates.

As for your last point, I agree with you. We need a Sanchez type winger and a striker. Even tho na saint Maximin make him just dey create chances for us. Any talk of defender should be a dead talk abeg, even if one of Gabriel or white go injury, make holding or chambers take over. Na why dem be sub and dem dey train.

The two bolded are contradictory statements.

In the first you gave up 3 positions because in your mind you think it's now impossible for us to finish 1st to 3rd. You will say you're being realistic right?

Then suddenly, in the second you accuse me of lowering the bar, because I simply want to be realistic.

I think the problem with our play in recent times especially against big teams is that they quickly tend to sit back and draw pressure.

Earlier in our winning runs, we were playing a high defensive line and it was working especially against Spurs. I don't know why/ or where they picked this idea of sitting deep. We have two CBs that are quite fast and could easily cover space. After all that's why White and Gabriel are holding the CB positions.

I hope that in the Everton game they will change this. We are always better of when on the front foot.

Is that confusing to you as simple as it looks?

The last two bold and talented players Arsenal had were these two. Thus getting something in their mould is a good precise wish, if not better, which we know for now is not possible until UCL football returns.
