UBA Nigeria, Africa's bank of the year. wink

The subsidiaries of the Nigerian bank are the best banks in CoteDvoire, Cameroon, Zambia and nine other African countries! Wow!
Instead of posting this rubbish it has to go I think they said Nigeria is the most dirtiest country in the world. The suffering and smiling show has never lied and will keep on exposing the judge of Africa's failures

Data appears fake. How can Nigeria nominal GDP have risen when Naira has fallen against USD and it's economy recessed last year by -5.

The same can be said of South Africa...though the rand did reverse it's depreciation.

Unless these are wild forcast for end of this year.
You still believes on those GDP lies?
With all corona lockdowns, but most of these GDP figures have been increasing!
And again, things on ground are completely different from what is written on paper

GeneralDae:
GDP is not the most important measure of an economy though, although it shows the output of goods and services in a nation. Therefore it makes sense that all populated countries have a GDP higher than they sometimes would have had. Also resources play a huge role. For instance, Angola and Equatorial Guinea have oil, but this is almost all of what the economies of these countries depend on. Angola have always had a higher GDP than Tanzania, but cities in Angola may be not so developed as cities in Tanzania except probably Luanda.

Nigeria has population, together with good Telecom and Banking sectors and is the tenth largest oil producing nation in the world. She practices non mechanised farming to an extent but still makes amongst the largest numbers in some agricultural produce. Even with all her perceived insecurities, Nigeria is amongst the top three nations with the most FDI's in Africa within the last 10 years ( the others are Egypt and South Africa). So while I agree with you that GDP should show in infrastructure, this isn't always the case like we see especially with Equatorial Guinea and many countries where Oil has been the dominant source of Government revenue for years.
Tanzania though is doing well and has the potential to overtake Kenya in GDP.
The biggest oil producer in the world is Saudi Arabia.
Angola with all their oil dependence and years of a bitter civil wars has at least Luanda to boast about, also,Angola's GDP is still lower. But though Nigeria depends in oil like Angola,I expected them to get at least 8 good cities since their GDP is more than 8 times of Angola.

I agree,Tz has a potential, not to be higher than Kenya( I think we r already on top of them),but to be Africa's superpower. Yea,it will,it's just a matter of 'when'
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Mkenya2019: 9:21am On Dec 05, 2021
Tanzania has zero potential. Absolutely zero. I was talking to a kenya lady uber driver yesterday and she told me she has met Tanzanian kids (14yrs) looking for jobs around - and when he asked why they are not in school - they said in TZ - after primary education - most people leave school. In meantime kenya has Africa's only 100 percent transition from primary to secondary - and there is a lot of effort to get vocational colleges working.

People who think TZ has potential look at minerals (natural) resources - they don't look at their hopeless HUMAN RESOURCES.

Kenya is good example of what investing in Human Capital does to a country.

Until TZ takes HCI seriously - it's going nowhere. It's another Nigeria.

South Africa rebased, Rand got stronger and also the economy rebounded stronger than estimated.

That's why it's 415B, I can only speak for south Africa.

the bolded true but folks been saying that for more than 10 years now but the gap is widening instead ... cheesy
I'll tell you why. As a Tanzanian, the gvt has for some years been more interested in FDI that actually improving the economic conditions of the citizens since FDI better translates to GDP figure. After the 2015 election the nation went to a more indoor production and supply mechanism and to push for more exports than import especially for agricultural goods. This led to the increase in infrastructure projects that will decrease overall cost of production and manufacturing and had a positive result on the economy and the lives of people. There for, the expectation was as the GDP figures rise so does the live and economic condition for the citizens. Come 2021 and Magufuli dies. As a nation most of the people don't actually know the direction to which we a headed as a country but after a year or 2 well tell you.

You are taking a small percentage of the population to describe the state of the whole nation. Over 400,000 students sit for their Form 4 (High school) exams with over 75% pass. So for a boy or 2 not going to school doesn't mean we lack educated people.

Don't expect Ghana to be on this ranking because anytime NPP is in Power they ridiculously close down Ghanaian businesses especially those that are doing well in the system...

Just less than 5 years they have successfully closed down over 5 strong Ghanaian Banks all in the name of Politics.. As for the smaller Banks they just swept them under the wheel just like that.

But the good thing the guy is raking in investment and economical development. I think in that sector and including export he is making headway from what I am reading. At least he is really trying to boost the electrical generation capacities just look at dover headlines which i saw the last time i visited gardner

i think get current administration is not doing bad at all but day have a lot of challenges in front of them which day at try to solve. Is just unfortunate that some of the people in Parliament are turning the whole thing into a circus. My rating for the current administration is above average, I really saw some improvement when I visited Ghana about two years ago and one year ago. Especially a lot of people an hour export see which means bringing in more u s dollar
