The op have said it all, I have lived in Abu Dhabi for over 3years. And I know what it was like to live in the Arab nations. You with japa syndrome, Dubai is not a place for shine hustle, think twice don't go and waste your time, energy and moneyfor nothing. Add to your money Seek better country where at least foreigners are giving equal opportunity to thrive. However, the environment is buffed with well modern designs and technology, a desert turned to luxury. You can only make your money else's where and go spend or lavish it in Dubai. Jus don't go there having it in mind that you want to go there and make it big. The Arabs are so stringent, you as a foreigner is not entitled to anything. Dubai is only design for those who can come to them and spend their money either by investment or shopping sprees. |

Let me add my two cents to this matter. I've been to UAE a few times. The country is more like the Las Vegas of the Middle East. It was designed to attract tourists. It wasn't designed to attract immigrants. The people who really enjoy UAE are expatriates from the so-called '1st world' countries (whites). It's not for people from developing countries. Hence why you see Indians, Pakistanis, Egyptians, Phillipinos and other 'immigrants' living in slums. The expatriates already have secured jobs before they arrive in the country. They spend their foreign earnings in the country. This piece of information is very important. Many people won't tell you this. They don't respect people from developing countries. Unless you have a secured well paying job in UAE, don't bother going there to work. It's even better to set up a business in another african country. |

No doubt. There are quite a few Nigerians who are making their money there. However, they have the right "skill set" that is needed there. Those guys did their research before moving to that country. Most Nigerians don't do their research. They just hop on the plane and assume that everything will sort itself out. Nigerians who are into gold and jewelry are cashing out big time. What I have noticed is that if you have a western passport or work experience from a western country, they will respect you more than if you came directly from Nigeria. Kog45: |
