They just need to embrace capitalism like China did in 1978 - allow private ownership of land, reduce gov involvement in business, reduce gov interference in private sector, change education policy - either go fully Kiswahili or English, remove forex controls and allow firms to repatriate profit at will.

Once they do that private domestic and foreign investment will flow - to take advantage of TZ peaceful large population, natural resources - and friendly people - and their economy will start firing on all cylinders.

All the changes in TZ do not require any money - just a change in attitude from their primitive gov and people.

Nigeria is a complicated mess - like DRC - it first need to be split into 2 or 3 countries - definitely the muslim north and christian south do not have a shared vision.

Let me inform you one thing when it comes to hard work tanzanians from what out perform Nigerian in hard work .nigerian can only work for a criminal or when is trying to steal or carry drugs. When I visited Lake Malawi and Lake Victoria the tanzanians day was very hard-working especially the fisherman. I was so surprised that they fished the whole night without resting

We grow tea in my village - almost exclusively - now some avacados and keep dairy - and we never lack money to buy cheap maize, rice and others.

When you transition from farming as source of food - to farming as agri-business - then you will grow stuff you will never consume because it pays very highly.

Maize farmer in Tanzania is hopeless compared to Tea or Cocoa farmer.

I do not know about now but when I visited TZ that time a lot of farmers who are planting cashew coffee and grape Vineyard

How modernized is their fish considering the enermous lakes..I think they definitely lead the world in fresh water lakes..huge portion of lake Victoria, lake Tanganyika and Malawi are in TZ..don't be surprised if Kenya export more fish than them
