If Tinubu does not support a SE candidate we will give our votes to the north threat in the mud.

Tactless politics, kindergarten politics, we warned them, they will not listen.
Go and vote Shekau, or Gumi they are from the north

I believe your people have a proverb about not knowing where the rain started beating you

One problem you folk have is you hate truth. You lie to yourself without cognitive dissonance . What am I talking about?

In 1960 The Igbo political elite took a decision when we ran a parliamentary system to form a coalition with these same people that you are now abusing. Awolowo was sent to prison and shortly after the same coalition encouraged the breakaway of MIdWestern Nigeria from the Western region. At the same time pretending there were no minority groups in the North or in Eastern Nigeria and the latter two zones were kept intact.
This is politics and the Igbos are entitled to play politics in their best interests but the point is from day 1 The Igbos drew a line in the sand and indicated a political preference for the Hausa and the Fulani over the Yoruba. THAT IS A FACT
It is not a moral issue it is political
How can you then say with a straight face that Yoruba gave them mouth to talk?

YOU are the ones that have ALWAYS done so. The one opportunity there was to build trust in the south this is what your people way saying:
https://www.nairaland.com/745731/yoruba-marginalization-elders-met-jonathan
Again ithe same scenario repeated itself in 1965 and the Igbo politicians in collaboration with the Northern NPC triggered a crisis in the Western region that led to the January 1966 coup.

The rest is Geography

After the war the first election was in 1979. We changed to presidential system. Shagari became president and Ekwueme Vice via their party NPN
Azikiwe did a deal with Shagari and his party the NPP got the Speaker House of Reps post .
The Yoruba were side-lined again there was no accusation, no sense of betrayal or accusations like that. Yoruba took it as POLITICS.
The same scenario played out in 1983 by which time Shagari had pardoned Ojukwu and he returned to join the NPN

Again in 1993 The Igbos did not vote Abiola
and
In 1999 the Igbos chose the Northern imposed Obasanjo over the preferred Yoruba choice in Falae

Two things

1. Are these facts in dispute
2. What would the Igbos be saying today if roles were reversed

Try and learn to be honest and deal with reality.

Throughout our political history have the Igbos treated the Yoruba in a way to justify any sense of entitlement?

Thanks for saying it as it is.

But the Igbos will never accept this truth, because they love the lies they continously dish themselves as a marginalised tribe.

They love themselves, they love to dominate other tribes, they love to boast about their prowess to achieve anything, forgetting that other tribes have the same abilities and making better use of these than them.

Power is for the taker, if they want it so much, they should humble themselves and strategise how to get it the same way other tribes have been getting it. If not they should stick to their "On Biafra We Stand" and allow others to rest.

Dude, calm down. First off, am not a yoruba but a south easterner like you. Secondly, am not the type that comes to Nairaland to fight tribal battles. Thirdly, follow my history in this forum and you would see that my views are always objective. I even attack those who denigrate igbos in the name of bigotry and criticize igbos alike. My comments are based on what I think is right than to be emotional about it.

Is it time for an igbo presidency? Yes! Are they playing the right politics to earn it? No! People like OUK, Rochas and until recently Anyim are making efforts but the attitude of our people isn’t helping.

And oh for the fulanis that you said they kill, relax. Each time they attack IPOB(even though I don’t agree with their strategy entirely) I quickly fire back by reminding them about banditry up north. So relax bro and don’t be too emotional cos am not the type that would do something just to appeal to emotions

Your idea of playing the right kind of politics is for Ohaneze to allow the intellectually inadequate North to humiliate Igbos. I see the comment credited to Dr. Ezeife as an olive branch extended to the North, but they literally spat on it in disdain with a very insulting response by NEF.

If truly you have igbo blood at all, you are at best half Igbo fathered by a Yoruba Muslim or a primitive Fulani Herdsman.

Nonsense.

You're confused, unpragmatic, senile old people. Is it not one of your own, Ezeife, that said that you people are ready to prostrate for every Nigerian one by one to have an Ibo president? Why can't you direct your anger to him ? Why is it that you Ibos never show wisdoms on any issues but grandstanding and empty boasts. And you want us to entrust Nigerian presidency into yout hands, even though you are clamouring to reap where you people have not sown ?

Did Igbo tell you they want your useless presidency... Igbo want actualization of sovereign state of Biafra which we are seriously working upon... Rule yourself forever for all we care !

you people are a funny lot. You are all shouting Biafra today but what is the reason you cant have Biafra? It is an ibo man called Ironsi. he is the one that removed the right to a referendum from our laws.

Because of ironsi you cannot leave Nigeria peacefully and because of Ojukwu you cannot leave violently because they are making sure the east does not occupy sensitive army positions. because of the utterances of your people the rest of nigeria will NEVER vote you as president...

you are the architects of your own political misfortune

Igbo are not interested in becoming President, Igbo sociopolitical group should knows better

you don't need to go on kneel or beg for presidency, Presidency is not obi of Onitsha titled.

democratically, Presidency is earned not given, saying Northern with population mechanism which is one of the factor of election should come and beg you to become President is not only laughable but it shows a lot of unseriousness from Ohaneze who should be building bridges

Igbo here can write it down, by 2023 if PDP go for Northern Candidate, south south or southwest candidate will be the preferred VP and not Igbo. Igbo should be wiser than this

Ibos are for PDP and have always been.

Ibos will get pdp tickets in 2023 for their reward.

SW may get 2023 slot for their reward in APC.

If all Igbos home n abroad join Igbos

Go and read the unification decree of 1966

Aguyi ironsi (and Ojukwu) is the reason why Nigeria is where it is today. Go and read your history. he is the one who unwittingly handed absolute power to the North thinking he would be in power forever. The North simply kept the laws Ironsi promulgated and assumed the absolute power for themselves, the reason why the rest of Nigeria is enlsaved to the North today is because of ironsi. He created the unification decree 34 and removed referendum from our constitution. That is the bane of Nigeria's problem. Ironsi is the reason why you cannot have Biafra, he is the reason the North controls the Oil from the south, he is the reason VAT goes to the North, he is the reason illegal Zamfara gold stays in the north, he is the reason the groundnut pyramids stopped, the and all the development that started at the beginning of independence halted., he is the reason governors go cap in hand to Abuja for allocation.... he is the reason development in Nigeria stopped...full stop.

Ironsi gave himself absolute power, the North staged a coup and kept the law, up until then the system the British left behind made sure the North did not control Nigeria despite their so called larger population at least not economically!!!!

Ironsi Locked us all in a prison, Ojukwu threw away the key. As a result we are ALL trapped in a system that doesnt work and we cant leave.

...and he was only in power for 6 months....Bastard!!!!

Also go and read the content of the Aburi accord signed by Gowon on behalf of the Federal Government but later repudiated on the advise of Awolowo. Maybe after, your ignorance bleatings will abate.
