My own question to you is that are you studying pharmacy for"how lucrative"? Or for the passion?
To be sincere with you, pharmacy is damn lucrative because in eour country going to hospital is not a common thing but "Over the counter that is if you want to go into selling which is the common trend for pharmacist.
You may decide to go into drug production and research.(pharmaceutical science)
OR
Administration of drugs and treatment(Pharmacology and therapeutics).
Pharmacy is broad and Interesting and you will have time for yourself after school.
For NYSC it is advisable to go to the north, then you will become a community pharmacist since they pay a lot(90-120k) plus other side hustle.
But saying you want to work in the govt is not advisable for me because securing a space is quite difficult and starting pay is over 100k although you will rise with time. If you can struggle your way NAFDAC,NDLEA then you go chop money
Analytic Chemistry will help you as a pharmacy when going to Industry. You can also go into Lecturing also if you love teaching.
My best advise to you is Do it for the love and not for money because time go come when you no go see money oo and you might be tempted to do wrong things. It is love and passion for pharmacy that will pull you through.

Nice comment sir,
But @ the bolded... Can someone have passion for something that won't bring money
I will like to say is good to like the course because of the lucrativeness and passion for it.
I believe one cannot have passion for to be poor or brokenness.

And sir, do mean they don't pay well for corper pharmacy in the south? Why always north?

Lol me no be Sir oooo another regular guy I know alot of pharmacists. "Money" is how you define it there is no way as an Individual that I will go into a course that I know that I won't be comfortable with it. Money is like cocaine you never seem to get enough of it.
The South won't pay you that much because pharmacy stores are everywhere and there is a limited number of pharmacists even in General Hospitals or community health centres and nurses can also compliment the pharmacists. The North is different, there are more General Hospitals,FMC and community Health hospitals and Drug stores are not so common (Na Aboki dey sell for there). They will need people(pharmacists) to fill in the gap even when Doctors are not around you get na.

Lol oo me na regular guy ooo.
Lucrativeness means that there is a regular income(somewhat steady) and relevant in any place. But the problem people misquote lucrativeness is"Money dey inside oo and we must chop am" thinking doing something is a source of a mighty income and they can go extra length( wrong doing to make it). That is why you see some Doctors doing abortions regularly to make more money and Nurses as well OR they profer CS for pregnant even though they are alright or any form surgery to gain more money or Pharmacists importing banned drugs or wrong drugs many more...
As for the north, Drug stores are not so common(except aboki) and Community Facilities are more. Another reason is that sometimes, Doctors may not be around and nurses may be too busy, So, The pharmacist prescribe drugs and administer them.
U know say for south, nurses dey prescribe drugs well, 2mins consult and straight to the nurse for drugs. For the north you talk with patient and prescribe drugs if you feel it is not right on the Doctors path and many more....
