When they put the seeds inside the silos all the oxygen is pumped out so no insects and the seeds do not get old.

Most of silos are taller than any structure in Ghana. They have driers and everything. You can sell or keep your maize for a fee and sell when you want.

Low quality TZ and Uganda Maize full of afloxotin (Not dried enough) - of different sizes- and you hear KaziKazi shouting - and that is only thing they export - MAIZE - the most useless of cereals. They cannot even get the certified seeds or drying right. We ban their useless maize they cry...unscrupulous maize dealers blend with kenyan maize and bribe..but they are killing kenyans with CANCER.

Kenya despite being luckly to start from solid foundation has most of time not dropped the ball.

Kenya is built entirely from agriculture. There is no minerals - no oil - no nothing. There is nothing apart from farming. And on 11 percent of kenya land that is arable

I understand what you are saying I have been to Kenya for agriculture and I know what you say especially the small Goodmayes from order like TZ I have experienced it first hand. I am just shocked to see the vacuum silos, the last time I visited Kenya I saw a lot of silos but this is my first time of seeing a vacuum silos which is quite an impressive feat. I think there are only three countries in Africa which have vacuum silos and two of them are in southern Africa Kenyan seems to be the third one how surprising

I think if I had opportunity I will come and start up a farm in Kenya 3200 chilling for 90 kg of maize, this is about 32 to US dollar for 90 kgs of maize why the price here in Brazil is above 15 US dollar for 90 kg maize. This is double the price what we are getting in Brazil

You see in Kenya we have very serious stats on Maize. We have formalized Maize market. Gov buys like 4 million bag in the strategic maize reserves. Maize milled by big millers is accounted for. Most farmers buy certified seeds and fertilized. Gov has very strong agricultural extension services who report on farm land.

We do serious data collection on maize as it staple food - and we keep strategic maize reserves - to ensure maize prizes never rises.

We produces more milk than South Africa and any country in Africa.
I think we slaughter almost more cattle than even Nigeria.

Nigeria is the largest producer of maize in Africa with about 33 million tonnes ( would have to check again if it's more), of which Kaduna produces 22% (7.6 million tonnes).
