Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday wore a special edition of their home kit to commemorate their main-man, Lionel Messi’s record-breaking seventh Ballon d’Or. Messi controversially won the individual award last month, beating Bayern Munich talisman, Robert Lewandowski in the process. PSG, as a way of celebrating their star man’s success, the squad all donned a limited edition version of their usual home strip that featured gold lettering and numbers on the back. Messi seemingly agrees that Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski deserved the award when he said during his acceptance speech, “I’d like to mention Robert, it’s been a real honour to compete with him. “I think France Football should award you your 2020 Ballon d’Or, you deserved it.” Since joining the French side in the summer, Messi has struggled to recreate the kind of form that made him a Barcelona icon at Paris Saint-Germain.
