'Bla bla bla... continue': Lionel Messi's dad takes to Instagram to slam critics of his son's seventh Ballon d'Or triumph after narrowly edging Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski

Messi got his hands on an unprecedented seventh title on Monday night, eclipsing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski by 33 points.

Voices from around the world of football have slated the outcome and claimed Lewandowski was more deserving after his prodigious scoring form across the last two seasons. He scored 23 goals more than Messi in 2021 and won the Bundesliga.

Messi finally won a title on the internatonal stage this year with Argentina - the Copa America - while also lifting the Copa del Rey with Barcelona.

It proved to be his last trophy at the Nou Camp. Barcelona were unable to afford to extend his contract so Messi paid an emotional goodbye before joining French giants PSG.

In his acceptance speech on Monday, Messi paid tribute to Lewandowski - who won the award for striker of the year - and said that he deserved to win the scrapped 2020 Ballon d'Or

'Robert, you deserve your Ballon d’Or,' Messi said. 'Last year, everyone was in agreement to say that you were the big winner of this award.

'Hopefully France Football will give you the 2020 Ballon d’Or. We all believe you deserved it and I hope you can have it at home.'

Lewandowski was gracious in defeat, saying on Twitter: 'Congratulations Leo Messi.

'Congratulations also to all nominated players! I won Striker of the Year Award and no Player can win an individual award without strongest team and loyal fans behind him. Thank you for your support.'

So tell me. Whose fans are rattling all over the social media's claiming messi undeservedly won it? Are they not Lewandowski wannabe fans like you?
