Beautiful comments from YouTube.
Some insensitive Kenyans decided to spread their ignorance on YouTube abd took it to the tents of SAns. They tried the idiots and put them in their place. The SAns on this thread are just too nice and peace loving walahi.

LOL I saw this

Even some kenyan was shocked and said "we building one road and few building, and yall think we catching up?"

Kenyans who visit here knows the truth, even chebby was like "I've never seen so many roads in my life" grin and she was in Ekurhuleni metro not Johannesburg.

You're about 10yrs early; Yes Nairobi is not at Joburg level but in about 10 max 15yrs - it will not only have matched it - but have overtaken it. There are few areas Nairobi need to work on - and it's working on.

Nairobi is a big construction site. Other kenya cities are also rapidly expanding.

There is nothing remarkable so far - just a mini zoo - a little more functional Nigeria.

But you see Kenya is also zoo with more bigger and has lot of starving lazy animals than Ghana grin grin grin.

Kenya is 89 percent semi-arid and arid - and has no minerals - and yet it africa largest non-mineral economy.
Ghana has always had gold (now production is big than south afric), bauxite, aluminum and now oil - almost entirely arable- and yet it not any much different from Nigeria.
What is wrong with your country?
Why haven't you used your minerals like south africa, botswana, namibia? or Libya, Tunisia, Morocco and such countries?
WHY
Despite Chinese smuggling a lot of gold - you still earn decent money from it.

Export
Gold ($10.8B), Crude Petroleum ($4.68B), Cocoa Beans ($1.61B), Cocoa Paste ($504M), and Manganese Ore ($489M)

Why are you so poor, so dirty, so undeveloped?

Why does Accra look like Ibandan city?

What exactly is wrong with your country ? WHY are you poor yet you're blessed with incredible natural resources?

No, I am not aware. I am only aware that 1/4 of all skyscrappers in entire africa, are being constructed in Nairobi. I am also aware that in medium term will be putting up 0.5M housing units in the affordable housing. I am also aware of road constructions project in Nairobi currently under construction exceeding 2B dollars.

Most importantly I know Nairobi has been ranked 4th Most Dynamic City in the world (Dynamic=fast changing) - only one in Africa to make the list - amongst a bunch of fast rising Asian cities.

And despite being under construction - Nairobi is highly ranked.

Cities like steyn city which is one beautiful, efficient construction is ever expanding.

Waterfall city which is construction, it's ongoing

The modderfontein city that was supposed to have failed is also back again constructing, started in 2020 again

Lanseria smart city which has begun construction, its a development between two provinces.

On top of that there are over 15 city development that are in different phases of development.

All of those are part of Johannesburg, yes in south Africa there are no youtubers who are showcasing different developments in the country like you have in Kenya,

Again the bolded seems to me you confusing city building is = to skyscrapers. Sandton sites not have many skyscrapers. So does new lanserria smart city, same as steyn city, waterfall city too.

Even the other 15 cities in different phases there are no talks of skyscrapers. But they are building midrange, sustainable buildings, green buildings and focus more on design.

That is probably why we cant see them - they are as dwarf as Ghana properties. Your gentrification I believe is a little premature. Joburg should look like Bangkok..if your economy hadn't died prematurely.

Nairobi once we get a few more 80-100 floors tall building will eventually look like this - and you will be visiting to gaze at them skyscrappers

Again in SA there are free apartments housing for the poor + theres also low cost housing units we never mention them, it's not a new thing to see.

I get it I hear you, but as much as you say there's $2b worth of road construction projects. Do you know Johannesburg road construction projects worth?

Again there are many cities which also are doing the same thing as Johannesburg in South Africa.

There's no pressure for Johannesburg, yes it's an economic hub however there are equality quality cities in form of Pretoria, Capetown, Durban, Gqeberga, East london, Bloemfontein, nelspruit, Klerksdorp, Polokwane etc

Bangkok is Thailand major city with population of 8m the next big one is a small with 130k citizens

So everyone in Thailand is moving to Bangkok so theres pressure in bangkok to build up

20 years steyn city came, waterfall came, moderffontein came, lanseria came etc
Refurbishment came.

Let's tackle tackle this who is every one? Last time I checked Johannesburg became the only Alpha city city in africa! Still control major transactions on the continent, still attracting more major multinationals. With Capetown turning in to tech hub attracting major businesses.

Modernity is definitely not sprawling mess like you got in West Africa. Skyscrapers and tall building are efficient use of urban space. Our population will be 100M by 2050 or about. We cannot build a city using Switz smiley model. And tall buildings can be green, modern and energy efficient name it.

South Africa population projected at 75m in 2100 we focus in sustainable, Social, leasure living etc city planning.

We are building accros the country, Joburg is major city but there are equality competing cities in the country.

Yall building sites to give much to live by, sites not offer much for social and leasure living

Let's stop making a mountain of Mole hill,

The reason for it was due to explosion to one of major power station, that's thousands of MW.

Power rationing is not a daily occurrence, we do spend 6 months of no downtime. When it does we complain. That 2 hours is important we don't settle for less.

Yes theres mega coal power station in construction.
Tons of solar and and windfarms in construction.

On top Germany France and UK gave SA AROUND $9b for renewable energy investment.

Also mining companies are developing their own powers stations .

Even automatic companies like Ford, Volkswagen, Toyota, Mercedes, BMW are going off grid
