Baeca was going down even with Messi. Messi was only lucky to escape.
MorataFC:
Summary is barca is missing Messi while Real Madrid is real madrid either with Ronaldo or without Ronaldo

how do you mean "tax payers" money?
All the billions they borrow from the bank are tax payers money.

And I hear they also get some govt sponsorship.

Barcelona were plain stupid, I remember there was a transfer window where P.S.G wanted to buy Messi out of his contract from Barcelona and the fee was around €500 Million which would have made Messi the most expensive football player ever yet they refused selling him and rebuilding the team.

The problem Barcelona is a facing today is due to financial mismanagement, no ambition and no thinking of the future. lot's of outrageous fees were paid for players. Till now Barcelona are still owing Liverpool for the signing of Coutinho.

Who signs a player for over 100 million and loans him out? Barcelona

Take a look at Greizman currently at Atletico and Coutinho previously at Bayern, this would have been the best time to build the team around these players but NO they are sent on loan and the other is no were to be found in the team.

how is borrowing from banks a bad thing? I hope you're financially literate enough to know loans aren't inherently bad and all clubs do take loans or get cash injections from owners like Chelsea, man city and PSG do?

What government sponsorship are you talking about?

UEFA to redo Champions League last 16 draw

UEFA will redo the Champions League last 16 draw after a series of errors during the original draw brought about a number of complaints from teams involved.

Manchester United were mistakenly drawn against Villarreal, despite not being eligible to face them after qualifying from the same group, and they were then not replaced as possible opponents for Atletico Madrid.

Villarreal's draw also featured seven possible opponents, despite only five being legitimate.

"Following a technical problem with the software of an external service provider that instructs the officials as to which teams are eligible to play each other, a material error occurred in the draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16," a UEFA statement read.

"As a result of this, the draw has been declared void and will be entirely redone at 1500 CET."

Real Madrid had argued that their draw against Benfica should have been allowed to stand, given it was first off the line and before any mistakes had been made, but UEFA have decided to redo the entire draw.

Fellow Spaniards Atletico Madrid went public in their attempt to get the draw redone, but you can decide whether that was simply because they drew Bayern Munich or not.

This is not rocket science, finding a replacement for a player like Messi will always be harder than Ronaldo[respectfully].

Get a scorer like Haaland, Lewandowski or prime Suarez, you'd have replaced a Ronaldo by 80%. But replacing Messi might not be that easy.

You'd need a PRIME Hazard, with a clinical touch of PRIME Falcao and a great assister like PRIME Ozil.

Now the question is where do you wanna see one player with these qualities?

Note the emphasis on the “Prime“. Thanks.
Don't forget the technicality of prime Iniesta. Messi had that too.

Don't mind the guy xavi and iniesta was the best player in the world in 2011, they came second and third behind Messi who was being favoured by Blatter

Since I started watching football in the mid 90s , I have never seen madfid get knocked out in the group stage or fail to qualify for champions league... who be barca when barca de talk... its like comparing man u to arsenal... barca were so desperate due to madrids domination over the decades, that they they were sooo foolish to think that a single player was the reason y they dominated... they were not used to that dominance , their first ever .... if Messi played for Madrid, he wudnt hv dominated that much .... barca messed up
Post is about impact of c. Ronaldo and Messi after leaving the 2 clubs, if you don't understand the post how do I even expect you to make any sense,

Focus on the topic and stop changing goal post. It is about Messi leaving and c. Ronaldo leaving not about real Madrid vs Barcelona.

Real Madrid simply had the confidence to tell Ronaldo to go to hell rather than pay him whatever he wanted while Barcelona bent over backwards just to keep paying Messi whatever he wanted which amounted to over €105,000,000 a year. paying him such an amount means they need to keep building the team around him which means only players that can play with Messi and make him better are bought and kept. anyone who doesn't fit this profile either gets sold or ostracised. Over the last 3-4 years Messi has been steadily declining and any bad game of Messi turns to a bad game for Barcelona which is why Roma, Liverpool, Bayern walloped them badly 3-0, 4-0 and 8-2 respectively. Then the unthinkable happened. Messi's contract ended and he moved. since all Barcelona have done is build the team around Messi and now he's gone those players are finding it very hard to adjust to life without Messi. also selling griezmann hasn't helped matters cuz it's even now that he should start shining but he got moved back to atletico instead.
of course real Madrid also struggled a bit after Ronaldo finishing third in the league and getting dumped out by Ajax in ro16 but it's only been getting better from there. winning laliga the next season, losing the league by 2 points the following season and now are looking like they'd win the league again. Mbappe is coming and can only make the team better

Barcelona simply made Messi look bigger than their club and that's where their problems started while Perez had always made it clear to Ronaldo that he's barely a speck of dust compared to behemoth real Madrid and Perez has done the same to Ramos while Barcelona keep paying Pique and Umtiti huge wages
the MVP here is the dude u mentioned...Fiorentino Perez. while some kids are busy kissing ronaldo and messis asses daily, Perez doesnt anyone shit. a few days ago i pondering on this subject and some of the things u said came to mind. Perez has continued to keep real madrid relevant. barcelona presidents made themselves Messis footmat while Perez made sure Madrids success wasnt decided by just one player. barcelona were postponing the "evil day" and foolishly wishing it never came instead of preparing for it. if Messi was in real madrid, perez would have offloaded him ages ago. if he could bounce raul, iker cassilas, ronaldo, who be Messi? the dude doesnt have time for asslicking any player. thats the guy with d real balls both on the and off the field of play

This will let you know Barcelona had never been playing had a team, it’s been a one man game and without him the team formation is disrupted without backup, why the other build a team with his other teammates and that’s the reason they’ve been able to move on without him….. Reason the later isn’t really doing well out of Barcelona
