A bus driver has been captured on tape battling with police officers and LASTMA officials that tried to arrest him in Lagos state

In a video posted by Instablog9ja, the driver could be seen struggling to hang on to his bus as a team of security operatives tried to break his grip but to no avail.

No less than a joint team of 3 police and 3 LASTMA officers could be seen in the clip making attempts to arrest the man as he held onto the bus which was being driven away

The video has sparked reactions online with netizens hailing the bus driver and some taking pity on him

Please stop hailing act of foolishness he committed a traffic offense and I don’t hail such nonsense if we can not obey simple traffic rules do not expect a better Nigeria, stop hailing n celebrating lawlessness

I can bet you lots are still toddlers to understand why lagos was before the formation on Lastma or you don’t live in lagos.
Just as it’s obtainable in other formations, Lastma has their own bad eggs, however, their importance on lagos roads cannot be over emphasized.

LASTMA has a few bad eggs yen yen yen.....yet virtually every motorist in Lagos is complaining about their attitude and unprofessionalism Miss me with that few bad eggs nonsense of an excuse. You fools always did that for the Police. Look where it's landed us!

Lagos State Guv has warned dat all LAST A shld do is manage traffic, but often u see dem engaging in fisticuffs with these commercial drivers...
Let me share certain secret wt Lagosians: Many of u don't know that more often dan not LASTMA stops flow of traffic just to apprehend a commercial bus driver who myt hv done something & escaped {E. G. @ CMS, thru calls they share bus number & cld stop flow of traffic at Onipanu.... But often these drivers know & somewhat escape into thin air, other commuters suffer the consequences....

Action Guv Ambode did put LASTMA/VIO/FRSC in their right places...
Most time, where LASTMA personnel are needed to manage traffic, they're no where to be found... Sometimes u cld see up to 7/8 LASTMA officials at certain spots... Why?

These buses should be duly registered so they can be tracked to the owner's homes and given penalty fees to pay just as seen in d Western world.. Chasing or dragging buses on express is madness to me

No respect for security operatives again.......it keeps getting worst until we come on board.

What is it with people resisting arrest in this country.

Even if my dog calls the police on me , I will just follow them after all they won't eat me.

Resisting arrest might get someone badly hurt and may even lead to fatality.

Lagos is a different world on its own..you just can't predict what may happen next

In a saner society, if u breach a law, u will be given a paper to drive yourself to the office and do the needful.

That is if they do their jobs to the letter. When they hide in dark corners waiting for traffic violators instead of being in the open to prevent the violations then I'd say they have a sinister motive. They play a positive role on the roads just like the Nigerian Police play a positive role in providing security. But like the Nigerian police, LASTMA has its very nasty, corrupt ridden side

Yes, I never doubted that. Just like any group of people, there are bad eggs in LASTMA too. However, side by side, their usefulness still outweigh the the lows. People complain of high-handedness of these officials which is true. We on our part cannot exonerate ourselves from the blame entirely due to our I'll mannered behaviors majorly of not obeying simple instructions.
