While I admit some Nigerians haven't been of best behaviour outside the shores of Nigeria, fact remains that the body language of our leadership says a whole lot about the tone at the top. Even an American criminal will first be treated as an American first with every civility and that does not mean we don't have criminals in that part of the world but you will normally think twice before treating an American citizen like garbage and its not because of the individual, it is because of the state power.

Issue is that how many togolese fly through our airports. Besides all the clout and influence naija had has been degraded by the shutting down of the boarders. Togo ghana, Benin etc that thought they could not survive without us and behaved themselves, have now see they can do well without Nigeria, infact it seems Nigeria needs them more. Thinks to oga at the top that seems to be only effective at "za ozza room". Madam don get big belle filled with natural minirals and resources.

Ethiopian Air is living on past glory. Avoid them the best you can. Especially when connecting flight is concerned.

Who respects our military again? Abeg they should just stay in the SE(the only place they have power) doing what they do best. Shooting civilians, flogging, checkpoint etc.

Yes but we shouldn't blame our leaders for our own mistakes na we vote em put... Every country has issues but una own na everything n everytime na online una dey bash govt forgetting that respect is a reciprocal... It is sad and out of place. Nigerians are harassed all over the world because of the institutional decay we have witnessed in our country. I once passed through Lomé airport on board Asky and to my surprise, over 60% of the passengers on that flight were going to the United States via the Ethiopia airline. And I was so curious, given the size of our population and influx of travelers, what is stopping the airline from offering a direct flight from Nigeria since Nigerians are their main customers?
The flight from Lagos to Lomé takes approximately 35 minutes. It is unfortunate that the government has not been able to convert the opportunities and leased value chains in the aviation sector to provide jobs for its citizens. I am very sure that most Airlines in Togo will struggle to survive without Nigerian travelers
The government must do all within the ambit of the law to protect her citizens whom they have compelled to migrate as a result of poor leadership.

I wouldn't trust the Nigerian govt to run a bakery making bread talk less of a whole airline ..Nigerian airways comes to mind

If I told you what Nigerians and their businesses face in the hands of Togolese security apparatus you'd be ashamed of how toothless Nigeria envoys are despite Nigeria's might. I once run a transport company between Accra and Lagos and I can tell that Togolese borders were intolerant and exploitative to Nigerians and the Nigerian consulate were lackluster to safeguard their fellow citizens if not for my Ghanaian staff who took it up and they came to rescue us simply because of a single Ghanaian employee.
Does sending a plane to airlift them solve this problem?
No, there are more Nigerians that would pass through this airport so we need to make a lasting statement and giant step to make our ECOWAS neighbors sit tight.
