kabe1:Unfortunately, all the losing Turkish and Russian competitors cannot claim bribery and corruption: they either paid bribes to the wrong people, or paid less to the right people. And claiming Barys 8x8 prototypes have issues is not going to work. We all know what's going on. I love how one of the blogs was so upfront: "How did Slavs and Turks lose to mere Africans with our brother Kazakhs?" |

The Nigerian Air Force plans to upgrade 3 of its older Mi-35 helicopters to the new Mi-35P being offered by Rosoboronexport. The Mi-35P upgrade features the enhanced targeting and flight/navigation suite inherited from the Mi-35M (including the OPS-24N-1L, PrVK24-2 weapons control computer and KNEI-24E-1 navigation/display system), together with its new weapons while retaining the airframe, rotor system and powerplant of the legacy Mi-24/35 family unchanged. life extension is on offer together with the upgrade to render the Hind good for use for 4,000 flight hours

I have a question, I hope anyone who's knowledgeable on this subject can provide me with an answer. I understand the need for Patrol boats, but I don't really get the concept of an Offshore Patrol Vessel, popularly referred to as an OPV. What is an OPV, why are countries more and more investing in OPVs? I know that OPVs are Corvette sized ships in most cases and in other cases they are Frigate sized ship like NNS Thunder. Corvettes and Frigates conduct patrols, so why do I need an OPV to do the same thing a Corvette and a Frigate already does? OPVs are known to be armed with 76mm guns at most, but the OPVs Nigeria has ordered would have Surface to Air Missile Capabilities, they are many OPVs that are armed with Surface to Surface missile and Surface to Air Missiles. What's really the point of buying an OPV and also owning a Corvette and a Frigate? It really doesn't make sense to me. The floor is open for all to have this discussion. |
| Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by RiceProducers: 9:12am On Dec 17, 2021 |
kabe1:The original reason for large OPVs might be having a long coastline that needs to be patrolled by larger ships that can take enough fuel and larger crews. The alternative to this would have been smaller Patrol boats and many small naval bases which would be uneconomical. The more strategic reason is to pretend you have no expansionist ambitions and that your massive but under-armed warship (that can be refitted with more offensive weapons in just 2 weeks) is just to patrol your EEZ. So you're playing the 'good boy' country. Sometimes geography and defence doctrines dictate..like for Israel and Russia who field a large number of smaller than OPV vessels that are armed to the teeth and can suppress and destroy medium power countries' navies. There is no need to pretend. The vessels are platforms for destroying enemies along their small coastlines. When they build larger vessels, it is because those large vessels are part of their countries air defence or nuclear deterrent systems. |

Its been 50 years,a whole half century since Pakistan in a typical move of strategic overreach lost east Pakistan, now known as Bangladesh. After Brit induced riots and false flags India was subdivided into 3, W&E Pakistan and India. The Eastern part was populated by darker Bengalis despised by the lighter C Asian Caucasoids ruling in the West. After a series of political issues in the East the Pak army retaliated with a full on genocide upon bengalis and E Pak Hindus: The brutal killings of 3,000,000 unarmed and innocent civilians during the 1971 liberation war by the Pakistani army and their local collaborators in Bangladesh with the intention of exterminating the Bengalis as well as the religious minorities, specifically the Hindus, falls within the ambit of crimes of genocide under the Genocide Convention of 1949, according to noted Bangladesh Supreme Court advocate and activist Farzana MahmoodRead more at: https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/world-news/pakistan-army-aimed-to-change-bengali-race-through-rape-genocide-in-1971-noted-bangla-advocate/articleshow/81845674.cms?utm_source=contentofinterest&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=cppst In what must be a world record irony the 90k+ Pak POWs needed protection from the Indian army FROM VENGEFUL Bengalis!? General Manekshaw then reminded the Pakistanis of a greater threat to their lives than the Indian troops — the deep hatred they had created among Bengalis with their repression in Bangladeshhttps://www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh/2021/12/07/month-of-victory-india-tells-pakistan-to-surrender-or-face-bengali-hatred In yet another irony Bangla is now richer than all its neighbours! They export a billion dollars of aquaculture yearly and build ships for WE buyers. Nemesis4you,can you add anything?

kabe1:that's a risky move putting a gun hole in the front windscreen when the turret got that location covered...a RPG shot through there when they are firing from it will be catastrophic. |
| Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by kabe1: 7:32am On Dec 18, 2021 |
Faithti:This is a fast intervention vehicle built also for special forces in mind, so additional gun port infront allows the commander ability to use his weapon. That's bulletproof. MRAPS cannot withstand shots from an RPG, not even the ones built in America. |
| Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by youghs: 10:14am On Dec 18, 2021 |
Faithti:An Accurate RPG shot will kill you anyways, whether there's gun port or not. That area is meant to cover close and lower targets, the turret cannot engage targets too close. |

kikuyu1:First Dar, then Mombasa. Terrorist returnees fleeing the heat in Moz are becoming a regional problem. But based on what your guys did in Likoni, you've got this. I worry about our Tanzo cousins. If they'd sealed off their border with a proper and sizeable infantry deployment as soon as SADC SF hit the ground in Moz as per plan, most of these fvckers wouldn't now be scampering across east Africa. But no, they wanted the PR spectacle of their SF landing in Pemba, and didn't do the unglamorous work of sealing off the border. |

I agree with you but increasingly Arabs are now sponsoring jihadism. In Kenya Gulf royalty fund Al Shabab,Saudis and Qataris though mainly the latter. Years of observation over the have modified my opinion on religion and politics. I rmbr last month an Ismaili pal bleating about Kashmiris like they were Palestinians! Fyi,this guy likes Macallan like I do though he does much white powder which I don;t touch. Several seemingly worldly Muslim expressing similar sentiments has made me take a fresh look at Islam. I don't see this ishyt ending anytime soon: people don't get conquest and violence is Islam's raison d'etre since the beginning in the Saudi sands . All the arguments to the contrary are but noise from the ignorant or believers practicing taqqiya which basically means lying. |

elimination of terrorists, surviving fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have no fewer than 77 members in Marte axis, PRNigeria can authoritatively reports. The terrorists, were eliminated in coordinated air strikes by the Nigerian military on three camps of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP), in the fringes of Lake Chad. PRNigeria gathered that over a dozen guntrucks and several motorbikes were destroyed during the offensive. According to a top military intelligence source, who was involved in the operation, Super Tucano aircrafts and other platforms were deployed for the sustained attacks on the ISWAP fighters, affiliated to ISIS. “The successful Nigerian Air Force aerial strikes, under Operation Hadin Kai, with support from troops of the Multi-National Joint Fast Force (MNJTF), was launched on December 19, 2021, at three locations harbouring hundreds of ISWAP terrorists at Arinna Sorro and Arinna Ciki and Arinna Maimasalaci in Marte Local Government Area in Borno. “The operation which was conducted after Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, targeted hundreds of surviving adversaries who escaped from a previous attack on Kusuma and Sigir, by the Nigerian Military. “There was already a credible intelligence that a large number of the terrorists have moved to those camps where they are treating their wounded fighters. It was also revealed that the areas were also used by ISWAP to concealed vehicles, MRAPs and motorcycles under thick trees. Meanwhile, a local source confirmed to PRNigeria that at least 77 corpses of the terrorists were buried by surviving ISWAP members. The source said: “Most of the terrorists met their waterloo, while few of them who survived after fleeing the area of the airstrikes, returned to pick the corpses of some of their commanders and members. “The surving terrorists buried at least 77 corpses of their members on Monday at Tudun Giginya, located between Arena Chiki and Kwallaram, in the same Marte LGA. “The few surviving ISWAP fighters have moved to Bukar Mairam and Yarwa Kura.” By PRNigeria |
