The people who own the land know the boundaries. So the ones exploiting loopholes are wasting their time. Sure they have proved all those in court. Best they accept a settlement or start looking for a new house.

Cause they can come at any time and raze it.

Razor blade.

You should ask Tinubu Why he is not on the straight and narrow path of Justice and equity. Why does issues like this resemble him?

The State Govt has interceded.....Before now, the LASG has allocated over 300 of the 549 plots to the family in Ibeju-lekki & Badagry areas...According to the reports!

They have promised to sort the rest out.....the family just wanted to force some hands.

Not true, I know a family involved in this personally, the lands alloted to them at ibeju lekki access isn't enough and would only lead to in-fighting amongst them besides I don't think it's bad of them wanting the land they original bought which was irresponsibly and forcefully taken away from them under the Mudashiru administration under the guise of building government offices and then sold to their cronies without and sort of compensation. I blame those who bought those lands, the modalities for acquiring landed properties requires due diligence but because they bought those properties, illegally and with the backing of irresponsible elements in government then, they didn't bother. When contention of a property is in court, the parties involved are required to maintain the status quo. this particular case has been in Court since 1986 but the government continued to sell lands while appealing a court judgement which was given by the highest court in the land. It's truly a shame. Anyone of the illegal inhabitants who loses or whose house is demolished deserves it. Let's put ourselves in the shoes of the original owners whose properties were demolished and lands forcefully taken and then sold to others before there very eyes even after winning a judgement in court.

I don't know what's not true..they were allotted lands in Badagry and later Ibeju-Lekki which were rejected by the landowners. The family is trying to force the hands of Govt since they have been abandoned and the LASG is taking them for a ride.

I agree totally with your submission but what's the way out.

Majority of the blame goes to the State Govt.....There is no option than for them to compensate the landowners. Like the Governor has said, they will source for land around the area and when not enough, look for a way out.

You can't place all the blame on the buyers because some of them don't even know anything about the case. When you see a land sold by the State Govt with genuine CofO, building plans etc.....the first thing that comes to mind is buy if you have the money. The State Govt has to get the flak for that.

In other cases, when a matter is in Court, there is a notice so when you are been lured to buy, you will be very much aware. I doubt that was the case esp with a Military Govt.

If one house goes down there, the LASG will pay damages that will last a lifetime. However, it doesn't have to come to that.....there just have to be a path to resolution.

It's very unfortunate but I agree with you, there just has to be a way out and I believe compensation would be the best way. What irks me is that some of the present residents feel they have connections and therefore are safe, reliable intel quotes some of them saying " magodo is not for riff raff, they should go to badagry where they belong" can you imagine?

That is a very derogatory comment....You know people are in many ways different and in the midst of many, fools abound.

The landowners should ask for compensation, that's all.....Perhaps at a steep price because they are in pole position.

I believe they should ask for compensation within reason so it can be achievable, if they go by the current price of property, it may be difficult to achieve
