It isn't a school per se, more like a training organised by a company. They're an agency for care workers, so they train us, and we get a diploma at the end of the training.

The training is about 6-8 months long, with placement and exams. So the duration depends on how well you do in your exams and placement.

After the training, you're offered a job with them in the UK, and accommodation for 3 months. After 3 months, you're expected to have found your foot and gotten an apartment.
WOW!shocked Sounds interesting! Is it like these agencies that recruit nurses from Nigeria to the UK? I'd like to know more about this company - their location, training fees, etc.

I'm not sure if they recruit nurses. Their certificate is for NVQ3 i.e the level 3 health and social care. I'm not entirely sure of the details but you have the theory and practical aspect of the training. The practical is the placement. They have different bases, PH, Abj, Lagos so you pick the one closest to you.

The fee is about 550k which covers the training and certificate only but they'll guide you on how to apply for hsc Visa. Obviously you'll be working with them until you find alternative employment, which shouldn't be a problem with your certificate. They supply your CoS so you don't have to worry about that either.

Every other thing, flight, medicals, etc are on you. Then 3 months after you've gotten to the UK, accommodation too. Which is a good offer if you ask me. Planning on moving my family through this.

I don't think you are serious. If you're really serious about leaving the country, preparing for ielts and chasing money like you've written here wouldn't be a problem.

cheesy This sounds good, especially with the additional offer of accommodation for 3 months. I just hope the company will keep to these promises, especially that of securing a CoS for the applicant after the training and certification, cos that's the most important thing. If they do indeed give CoS for your work visa, then it is worth it. Your first pay would easily cover that. Also, remember they will provide accommodation for your first 3 months which would help you save more and have a head start.

It's not if you think about it. The certification body is in the UK so you're paying in pounds... Put in the conversion factor.

Aside that you'll be getting two certificates i.e the level 3 and first aid certificate. They are both internationally recognized.

It was 350k but It was increased recently. The name is Kopemedics, you can look them up online. But there are other people doing this so if they're too high for you, you can look out for others.

Tell your friend to go to the nearest Teaching or General Hospital and locate any of the following units: EEG, ECG, Echocardiography, Spirometry or Physiology units. Request to learn at any of the unit (Most are free, some may ask for certain amount of money). Get sufficient experience and proficiency in their chosen field. Look for short courses related to their chosen fields that they can take. Then go online to begin their job search.

Pls i like you to share more light on this, examples of short courses related to the above mentioned fields? will the short courses by aceepted ?

Not too expensive oo.

I did my level 5 London City & guilds (NVQ5) qualification in Electrical here in Nigeria four years ago around 350k. It should be around 500k now I think.

You pay in pounds converted to Naira.

If the company can truly support with COS, then it's worth it.

I spoke with the Manager of Kope Medics to inquire about how true is the support with COS after the training. He was very honest that the company has the ability to sponsor people from Nigeria. However, can only sponsor if there is the need. This is because the job has to be provide once they are brought to the uk on soonsorship. By implication, there is limitation to the number of people they can provide COS for. He mentioned over 100 candidates have so far enrolled for the course, but only 10 are in the process of resuming in January and he is not sure of when there will be need for the next batch.

Thank you very much for sharing with us your enquiry, Healthyliving. It's quite understandable that if the company would provide CoS, it would definitely be very competitive.

Hello, Richdee. Thank you for your comment. Having a care certificate should normally be of a greater advantage to boost one's chances of getting a Care Worker job in this HACW visa route. However, I can't vouch for Kope-medics meeting the expectations of providing CoS and accommodation for 3 months, especially as this might be quite competitive due to high demands. Hopefully this new law that's about to come into effect will not make it mandatory for those applying for Care Worker jobs to have care certificates and prior experience. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!cheesy

Sure boss thanks for the reply
The added route according to the UK govt. would just last for 12 months depending on when it starts from next year

There would definitely be a rush.
