Will they still get a new one?
Yeah.
If coordinated well.
You know they have cameras almost everywhere.
There are specialists in doing such.
They are risk takers!

For where?
Abuja wey them dey set up mall under 2 months

That should be a new setup. Before insurance would consider to disburse any funds towards this disaster, series of investigations upon investigations would be carried out, and this would take several months. Even if the owners have the billions to setup back without depending on insurance, they will still have to take things a bit slow for proper investigation. All these are the reasons I gave a one year timeline.

Many jobs have been lost and insurance will not cover that.

The destruction of this mall is very painful, there is no month I don't shop in that mall.During the last week of November the mall was heavily stocked ahead of Christmas celebration. When I think of all the goods in that mall my heart weeps.

This mall has a dedicated fire service truck always parked inside the premises .Please what happened to that truck when this fire started.

I feel pity for the workers and people who depend on that mall for survival.I was supposed to shop there tommorrow .I screamed when I drove past the building only to see the ruins with my own eyes.

Even if they are caught how much are the arsonists worth as compared to the damage caused, NOTHING. One should just pray this should not happen again and be more safety conscious.

Naija and unwarranted emotions, some here are forming imbecilic opinion that the fire outbreak is political.....imagine

Also some are praying for God to help the promoters ...when in actual facts insurance will do the needful... How on earth will someone put money into such huge venture and not insure same...also note that 95percent of goods in that store are stocked by the manufacturers and NEXT c&c didn't pay a dime to have them in it's store...so , business is beyond iya Sade counter shop...make una all go hurstle
u sabi pass average people
Most Nigerians still very much uninformed and kinda backwards

Fire fighting should be a local government responsibility, there should be a fire station attached to any populated area, not one stationed at the center of town

They are not into similar core area, Hmedix is drugs and provision store while next cash and is much more than that.

But why do u people always look for somebody else to blame for accidents that might have been internally orchestrated to cover up fraud.

Very convenient for you to Insinuate that it was orchestrated to coverup fraud, can you tell us more about the fraud they intend to cover up?

I don't support stealing/looting. However, it's better those goods were stolen than burning and wasting away. At least, this way, they still serve a purpose.

Have you also thought of the option of the looted items being packed to a safe location for the owner by the looters?

Stealing is stealing and shouldn't be an alternative.

I may be wrong, but i see these recent slew of market fires as a targeted ploy to ruin igbo owned or at least south east/south south owned businesses.

You are a big fool like Peter. I cost less that 30m to put up a good personal fire hydrant with fire pump. Stop blaming others for your joint foolishness.

Its been a very long time that this store had been on their hit list.

Peter Obi should know that this investment was targeted to either go up in flames or be demolished by FCTA under the guise of distortion of Abuja master plan.

At least now they achieved its destruction without any lawsuit

Just as. Anything that happens in Lagos eg burning of brt, court house, fire station, looting of obas palace etc, someone, tribe or group was behind it according to some people.
Only God can forgive you people?
Abeg let me not join you guys in your tribalistic rants.

Never felt this sad for a business that isn't mine in this state. NEXT really helped by employing hundreds of people directly and indirectly. Also those looting, some might even be patrons that sell their bread on the street.

Where was the police to control the looting?

Where was the fire service?

I hope there is CCTV recording to show what happened.

God help us in this country.

Looting is not a new thing, many will help to salvage what they can and a very few will be on the look out for what they can steal or loot, like you said either ways the owner will be the loser, while the salvaged goods will be a loss to the ravaging fire and a gain for the looters.

In all, as a nation we still have a long way to go as there is still no effective fire fighting emergency approach in cases like this, which ought to have done the bulk of salvaging the burning supermarket.
