Here is my BS.

Had my first child in 2019 also through VD so I thought as an experienced person no shaking na but this one taught me that no two pregnancies are the same.

My due date was 26th December so when I passed it I started getting tired. Did all I could to induce labour naturally still no show at least for my first I saw signs and delivered before due date.

On Saturday night which was my edd I started having mild contractions which were not so painful and were not consistent, coming after 30mins to 1hr. I just ignored the guy, meanwhile I had already started to ginger for induction after reading some posts on this thread.

The contractions continued till tues evening when they became more intense and frequent. DH say let's go to the hospital o.

We packed my things into the car and headed for the hospital. Getting to the hospital doc said I was 2cm dilated but that they would admit me and watch me. I would have objected but I hd pans to tell them to augment the labour if it didn't progress fast cos I was already tired.

By Wed morning no serious improvement so the doc on night duty the saw me said I should remind in the hospital till he resumes in the evening and if no progress still, they would help me.

By afternoon, the doc on duty said the gynae asked her to send me back home since there was no progress and I wasn't up to 41 weeks. The hospital does not induce till you are 41 weeks plus. Chai! I wan crase

So DH said we should go back home because I was still trying to convince the doctor to induce me as I had passed my EDD

Then we packed and went home. Getting home, I made dinner amala with okro soup. Sat down to watch Chelsea match with DH as per this life ah kant kee mysef o anytime guyman wan show make e show .

No heartbeat after 8 weeks and two days, scheduled for another scan after a week...wifey already crying and all...gas anyone ever experienced this?

please tell your wife to stop crying so that the fetus will not be affected and tell her to do another scan after 2 weeks in another reliable scan centre. with faith and prayer the heartbeat will come up. This happen to my wife as well at week 9 we check again and our LO was swimming like what i don't understand . tell her to continue taking her medication , Folic acid , vitamin c and Ferrous its very important avoid taking Bike as well because of the rough driving,

it will end in Praise and Smile in Jesus name (Amen)

After first half of 45mins my dear mamas I began to see stars. The contractions that hit me ehn plus the way show that I was looking for with torchlight since was coming ehn, DH said lets go back. The contractions were coming back to back after 3mins. I told DH to lets hold on na oga say he no get experience for midwifery so we headed back to the hospital that wed(yesterday) night.

Getting to the hospital, the doc on duty whom I saw the previous night said who asked you to go back home? Was that the agreement? See me see quanta o no be your colleague pursue me? So I was taken to labour ward. My sisters with those contractions I dey ginger say I don reach like 8cm but you wouldn't like to see the expression on my face when doc said I was 4cm.

So we were there for the night it was still childsplay till this morning around 6am. OMG I cannot describe what I experienced. The most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life. For those who think induction is more painful than natural pls dont indulge me in that conversation the argument doesn't hold water o. It all depends on each labour mbok.

At about 9am I was begging them to let me push o because I couldn't bear it again. Nurse say e be like I wan tear my cervix abi that I am still 7cm OMG I died and resurrected. She kept encouraging me that before 12 or 1 I'll deliver. I almost slapped her. Here i am at 9am feeling like I wanted to just throw out baby and you are taking 12 or 1. I kept screaming I want to poopoo o give me pain reliever. They injected paracetamol shit was just as if they injected water pain was even more than before .

At about past 11, I told the nurse the cervix can go to hell for all I care I was going to start pushing because I cannot die of pain. So she checked and said see baby's head i should move to the delivery bed immediately. I ďidnt even wait for her to finish her statement I jumped up immediately. When we got to the delivery bed, I didnt wait for instructions I started to push from the first contraction. Baby's head came out with the second contraction and the body with the third. Nurse was blaming me for the tears that I started pushing when she had not asked me to and that was why I had the slight tears. She stitched me while they cleaned baby after they took him from my chest.

He weighed 3kg at birth despite the plenty bread, butter and yoghurt

Fast forward to today exactly one year after the last experience, seven weeks gone into pregnancy, wifey just discovered wetness in her panties, lo and behold, blood with thick cloth stained the pant, entered toilet to clean, and immediately drove to the hospital. Doctor run check, cervix was opened and blood flow. Meaning, no more baby in intact shape. Evacuation done afterwards

Really sorry if I couldn't place all in the write but I believe experienced mom's understand the little I can put up.

Please try to see a gynecologist in a specialist hospital and also do not neglect the place of prayers
For the 2 to happen the same date, it means a lot to the Africa girl in me…. God will lead you to the right doctor and he will help you fight and win your battles.
It shall end in praise by Gods grace, 2022 you shall carry your bundle of joy in your arms

This is heartbreaking, but the One that did it for you twice will do it even more and it shall end in praise.

The thing is with both cases, there's nothing you could have done medically. Chromosomal abnormalities and early pregnancy loss that has gotten to that stage can't be solved and it's no one's fault, not you or your wife's or the doctor.

Just let her eat well, pray and pray, and try again.

I was always traumatized being a first time mom with no expert around; my hubby was always frustrated too. We would just keep looking at him as he cried with misty eyes sometimes.
I read the face down on thigh method whilst rocking him; it worked temporarily like I said.
Its a phase that will pass without any intervention sef.
Wait o! I just recalled we used herbs o; the frustration was out of this world; Yoruba people call it 'agbo inuwo". Dont know the English; it worked better than gripe water
Please,be careful with herbs o; make i do disclaimer here. I used it intermittently for my son out of fear.

Yes,it will gradually subside and pass even without any intervention. If it happens to my yet- to-be born child; I would just watch and pray this time around. Well-done

oh yeah... U mentioning herb made me remember givin my baby ogiri but i giv him like once in a month wen d colic start cs i was scared of given him anytin traditional.. D ogiri made him poop n fart very well, d relieve e get frm it is priceless... D amount i do give him is very little quantity, like half d spoon of baby spoon... Apart frm dt ogiri, d fear of herb no let me give him agbo inu ewo, even d one my mom bought 4 me, she took it back wit her cs i refused to give him.

3months is 4 gals, 4months is 4 boys.... Sorry abt d inconveniences.. Naso e dey b 4 babies... Ve patience, tnk God u re there wit ur wife 4 suppose, i was alone wen i had mine, hubby wasnt around, it was frustrating but baby was fine eventually by d end of 4th month... Them havin colic is bcs of foreign tinz gettin into deir stomach n stomach which is still brand new n building acid, gut microbe to digest dem, workin hard to do its wrk... Its not dem babies fault too to b fuzzy, its wat deir body is goin tru.

Pls forgive the breaks. You know when you are telling a story you need to drink plenty water no be small thing wey my eyes see o. There was no water to break again sef cos baby had swallowed all the amniotic fluid. We thank God fr everything. Wishing you safe delivery

What does it means to apply heat please

Items needed:
1. Hard stone (ako okuta) in d absence of kerosene lantern
2. A stainless plate
3. A piece of Ankara fabric

Heat d stone up on fire for few minutes, put in d stainless plate.
Then take ur already made ankara pieces with uda & kafura (grinded together, knotted in it)
Place (d knotted part) on d stone to heat up.

Ensure d temperature is ok for baby by first placing the heated knotted-part of d ankara piece on ur cheek before placing on baby's navel
Do like 12-15 rounds at a go 3ce a day for d start.
Works like magic!

I'm so sorry for your losses papa.

Please you need to change your hospital.

If you're in Lagos, I'd suggest you go to Island Maternity or any good Govt hospitals. They have experienced hands there.

If not, please ask for good hospitals in your location.

You will receive your miracle soon by God's grace. Please take care of our mama

u c i agree with all u said... But u c dt camphor u mentn, just omit dt... Camphor is a big letter NO 4 babies... Google abt it, infact let me help u search n paste it here. We shld all b careful wrn handling new born babies... Do research b4 applyin anything or giving them anything abeg!!! Internet don mk life simple by mkin all information available 4 us to access.

Lmaoo! I thought i was the only one. I halved the recommended dosage too and would pray over it before giving him. My inlaws would rather do herbs for everything- they made herbs worth 10k for me because i wasnt lactating. Wooo! I no drink one spoon from it after they forced me to go to the herb seller. No regrets,abeg.
