This is actually an anomaly that Buhari has been complaining about since day 1. Falana wrote on this too. National assembly has no duty to infuse fresh projects into budget proposal, but preceding governments have spoilt the NA such that they use their position to blackmail the executive to fund 'constituency projects'. In LASG, assembly raised budget by 27%! Maka gini? I still look forward to read the breakdown.
The executive should make the Supreme court decide on the matter to forestall a repetition.

Some of you are really sick to be honest. You just criticize meaninglessly. The budget was transmitted to the president just last week and the 2021 financial year ends today. So, what do you expect the president to do between last week and today? Send it back to NASS when members are already on recess?

The president has done the right thing by signing the budget in time so as to maintain the January to December financial year. Thereafter, an amendment will be forwarded to the National Assembly next year to correct some of the anomalies that were raised by the president. That the budget had been signed does not mean it can’t be amended.
