Yes, exchange rate us high, customs clearing duty is also high, but sellers have also raised prices astronomically taking advantage.

10 to 20% profit margin is not bad after cost price, but what we have now is close to 50% margin if not more.

A relative just brought in a car from Canada

Bought at Auction for $7500 (CAD) * ₦450
Shipping @ ₦600,000
Clearing @₦1,200,000
Total approximately ₦5.2million.

Similar car is advertised on Jiji for ₦6.5m to ₦6.7m

No two cars are the same. Your relative bought a car at CAD$7500 does not mean another person cannot buy similar car for more or less the price (depending on many factors/conditions). If GAZZUZZ finds no buyers, he may be forced to adjust his price.

I don't think you should be in the position to dictate how much a dealer sells a vehicle. Market factors will do the needful. Let's think about it. Will you compare a car bought from non-snowy California to one used in Canada or East Coast, USA? The latter is prone to rusts because of salt. More also, West coast doesn't do RORO--so the overall cost of shipping will be higher. What's the brouhaha all about?

I think there should be a very solid explanation to this and I would ask why the preference? And why is such not extended to other car dealers?

We complain of our leaders cheating us, what is happening here appears similar, except there is a good justification for it

Gazzuzz influences those moderators even though they didn't agree to officially make him a moderator because of his dirty hands and garments they know too well.

Being a green snake, he codedly uses some moderating tools unofficially assigned to him by some moderators to carry out all sort of acts.

This one scares me a bit. Airbags popped and that left front wheel looks like frame damage. Any and everything can be fixed. But na Naija we dey.

Most of the airbags of cars fixed in Nigeria will not deploy on impact. It is a serious safety concern and that is the
reason most car dealers use black tape to cover air bag light (indicating that airbags are not functioning properly)
showing on the instrument cluster.

P.S: Except anyone is sure and confident that the deployed airbags were properly fixed abroad(only 1% of Nigerian car dealers fix deployed airbags in abroad because of the expensive cost of fixing over there), avoid cars having their critical airbag(s) deployed.

It's a new year and you shouldn't start with this.

People should learn to accept criticism and just move one.

Calling the moderators to report posts that you feel you don't like doesn't change the message being passed.

Some of the allegations are true.

1. The post was stickied which is very wrong and the attention of the moderators was drawn and they did the needful.

2. The other chap made another allegation.

There's nothing insulting in any of the posts, rather, but stating the obvious.

But you called in moderators, to take down posts. Does that not justify what the guy said below?
