BlueRayDick:To be honest, this is not our points. Our points is this guys have been trained by Arteta and they have game plans set out by Arteta already. Las las, na dis same boys go play and carry out the execution(and no be Arteta). Let Arteta trust this guys to carry out the game plans instead of always barking, directing and gesticulating CONSTANTLY. Na small thing e for remain make him hold pes pad sef ![]() We feel it limits the boys' freedom to do their things. |

Jodera:I’m beginning to think those hearing devices attached by the side of the ref’s ear are meant to pass match fixing instructions to the ref. Imagine almost 3 of the fixtures today had officiating issues . |

kodded:Look at Pep's teams na... Because they play so high, they rely on tactical fouls to break opposition play before it gets too dangerous. Most of those fouls are hardly card worthy. It is an art. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 11:31pm On Jan 01, 2022 |
BlueRayDick:Lol... Your thoughts might be valid. If arsenal Pk call was that bad, I wonder what Watford fans will say. I mean, that was a blatant foul that deserved a yellow card from the keeper but mumu ref said play on. Var at that instance had temporary blindness ![]() |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 11:44pm On Jan 01, 2022 |
Jodera:They have deviated from the original purpose in the usage of the VAR system. Last season, they struggled with managing how much time was expended in reviewing plays, and which play gets reviewed. They seem to have cut that down but that comes with its own demon...The haste to move on from reviews and the subjective interpretation of scenarios is now what we are battling with. When Bernado went down, the referee immediately knew it was a dive, he saw it, he waved Bernado up but he was communicated to take a look at the incident. I expected him to watch the contact and its impact on the fall, instead he focused on the contact after the player was already going to the ground. It was frustrating because it was an obvious dive that was intentional as Bernado had no plans of playing that ball. Martinelli had a similar chance to go down after contact was made during a goal attempt but he stayed up. The missed PK on Odegaard was far more sacrilegious because Ederson made contact with Odegaard before disrupting the motion of the ball. In contrast to Bernado's, Xhaka made impactful contact after the player was heading to the ground. Every analyst I have listened to argue that was a clear PK and are disturbed that the referee did not call it. It begins to bother into the lines of match fixing based. I hate when referees superimpose themselves in games, making themselves the center of attraction. |

Roland17:It's just annoying cos most times I don't understand how a professional referee can't just get it right and at least, this is something that's very clear. Same thing happened against Liverpool vs Tottenham. The penalty against wolves by Man city and many others. I wouldn't be too concerned if there's no var(as I'll attribute it to ill-luck and human error) but when there's var to correct all these human error and yet it still persist, then questions have to be asked |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:35am On Jan 02, 2022 |
Zakamori:The slide on rodri on martinelli that almost broke martinelli leg, yet they gave a corner kick. Is that not a foul and wasn't it card worthy? Even the foul that was done on partey that was card worthy, the ref decided to brandish saka a yellow card for complaining. While I agree that guardiola men mastered the art of tactical fouls to break up play and avoid card, yesterday's game was not one of such games. The ref was quick to give arsenal a card for any small error while same foul doesn't have same consequence for man city. It's just annoying |

I like how most of our players on their social media accounts have responded to the outcome of the match . From Ramsdale to Saka , Ben White , Gabriel and even Tomiyasu ..... one can see they are not taking it down.... the performance has got them pumped and they aren’t going to stay down . |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 12:47pm On Jan 02, 2022 |
Jodera:The black and white you accused me of is what you just used against me. I said even if you attribute yesterday's performance to the assistant it means nothing because we lost. The value is equal to zero points. That game will not add a point to our tally. You cannot give credit where there's none. So no need continuing the argument. If we had won, then the accolades will make meaning. |

Abeg what’s with Female commentators in matches lately Must we bring inclusion and diversity into everything? Football is a male sport, we have female dominated industry as well. somethings are just gender centric whether you like it or not. It’s same nonsense Nigeria Breweries did bringing Toke to anchor Gulder ultimate search which put a nail on the coffin for them. Wetin concern woman with Gulder? how many women dey drink Gulder? They are taking this nonsense too far. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:53pm On Jan 02, 2022 |
kokanepyramid:Actually I don't mind women being a commentator or even joining the men in analysing the game. But you see that one that female are refereeing men's game or acting like linesman(abi lineswoman), I hate that with passion. I don't want to sound anti-woman ish or stuff but I think they should be a limit to all these things. That situation that involved aguero with a lineswoman that caused some kinda uproar even strengthened my resolve. It's just so wrong... No be everything be equality cos sometimes equality isn't the same as fairness. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Nobody: 9:33pm On Jan 02, 2022 |
Jodera:There’s everything wrong with the commentary it’s borderline boring to hear. And this gender equality is just balderdash. Last year I got a memo at my place of work for all hiring managers on recruitment process to fill vacant roles in their respective departments. This is a manufacturing operations business and of course male dominated. The memo was more or less stating guidelines that will favor females in the recruitment process. Where’s the gender equality in that. Today they are talking “gender equality “ tomorrow it is “inclusion and diversity” all just to sound politically correct. While everything turns upside down. That commentary was painful to hear. |

Tuchel Drops Lukaku For Liverpool Game! This is an example of what I was debating with Roland some months back concerning Arteta not being in good book with players that take their criticism and frustration to press. I saw that Lukaku interview, I felt his pain and frustration but I also knew his complaint about the manager and the club in front of the press is wrong and will not go down well with Tuchel and the club. So I was not surprised with this news. Tuchel said he created a noise they don't need. Players taking their frustration to the press do more damage than good. It should only be an option when all other options have failed. I guess Lukaku is trying to force his way back to his former club, and he might just succeed with his approach.. but making enemies of his current manager and club with some fans to achieve it is wrong. There are better and much more noble way to force that move. |

kokanepyramid:You can imagine the bolded. This is very serious. Maybe they wanted a change of something cos sometimes I don't even understand the rationale behind all these things. The female commentator Karen Carney right? To be honest I do enjoy her commentary, not very well compared to the guys but I just feel she's not doing bad. She's just there and it's understandable |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:10am On Jan 03, 2022 |
ObaIgwe1:To be honest eh, I don't see why Lukaku should even have the mind to complain not to talk of granting that stupid interview. Maybe you might feel his pain and frustration but honestly I don't (that's if he had any to start with). This is someone who was injured for months and then he came back while been benched for like 3-4 matches(not months oo). As a professional, the best thing is to make sure that you prove your manager wrong for not slotting you right in not feeling frustrated, pained and dejected cos the timescale is too small to be. Why should he be granting interview and spewing that rubbish just cos he was benched for 1-3 matches (I heard that interview was 3 weeks ago it happened). Who does that? And the worst part was that he's already started scoring when he was finally called into action which Chelsea needed, thus making him potentially indispensable before the stupid interview flooded the media. He would have definitely started ystdy match due to his fine form of 2 matches ago Lukaku is stupid and foolish and there's no justification for him even getting pained and frustrated to even start with... Maybe If there's any justification for his pain and frustration I would have understood your point.. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by ObaIgwe1: 9:21am On Jan 03, 2022 |
Jodera:Actually my focus is not in the merit or demerit of his frustrations... (Chelsea fans can debate that), But that going to press with his grievances (good or bad) only made things worse. So players should always avoid this route. Even other clubs including his former club will not see his action on a positive note. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Nobody: 9:21am On Jan 03, 2022 |
Jodera:My point is you can’t be lowering the bar for one gender and raise the bar for the other then turn around and say gender equality. You can sleep off while listening to that commentary. I wasn’t planning on sleeping hence I switched channels |
