I just received the sad News of the death of Elder Statesman, Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa, at the age of 74 years after a protracted illness.

Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa was a presidential candidate in the annulled June 12th, 1993, presidential election.

Two years ago I received a Letter from Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa via email where he commended my passion for highlighting the backwardness of Northern Nigeria. He invited me to his house in Kano state so that we can discuss the way out. I was then still recovering from the injuries I sustained during our unfortunate "accident" of 2016.

Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa was passionate about the progress and development of Northern Nigeria. A great Philanthropist and a Friend of the poor and downtrodden.

Our Heartfelt Condolences to his bereaved Family! God forgive his mistakes and congregate him with His righteous servants! Ilahee Ameen!

Yes, MKO was the people's choice, even in Kano, Tofa's home. Unfortunately, IBB annulled the most important election in Nigeria, where religion and ethnicity was not considered. Abiola and Kingibe were both muslims. Imagine how liberal Nigeria was.
I doubt if we can still have such an election in Nigeria in our generation, especially since Buhari has divided Nigerians along religious lines.

This is not true.If Yorubas were respected then why did the military kill Abiola and his wife like a nobody.Yorubas feed Nigeria followed by South South.

wat rubbish treason because he ask Government to stop his people killed by a group of pple d president support indirectly, if it not igboho that voice out and gave moral to southwest youth to say enough is enough by now his happening in southern kaduna, plateau state and benue would have happen in Southwest. And u are here saying Yeye treason to same Government that is protecting Boko Haram sponsors expose by UAE, it still remaining 17 months diz Government will end and yet those sponsors are yet to appear in court for their evil they did to pple that made many children orphan,out of school,some parent lose their children through kidnapping,made many living in IDP camps and many refugee to neighbor countries
