That was why Jonathan told you that stealing is not corruption.
Such a pity that statement was so badly misunderstood.
Nonetheless it was always a terribly mis-advised thing to say, even if it was technically correct.

The bitter part is the anxiety to outsmart others.
In Ghana you will hardly see such desperation
I mistakenly gave a Ghanian woman 500cedis instead of 400cedis she returned the remaining 100cedis to me
Then I remembered Nija and smiled to myself .
it do happens in Nigeria too no big deal about it jor

OP is delusional.

I don't think Nigerians understand the sums involved, the per capita amount would mean Nigeria's economy would either be 20 times bigger or the population growth rate much less than it has been.

Are you corrupt more than Chinese or Americans?
Our problem is f00lishness, laziness and mindset not corruption.
oga, if you go to the western countries like USA, no such thing as governor embezzling the public fund entrusted in his hand for a project, if he tries it, he's going to jail.

Make your research

Corruption has dealt us a heavy blow in this country, Nigeria is the only country that retrogresses every year, no progress since 1960.

I don't know when this ugly circle will end.

The bane of Nigeria's development:

- Corruption
- A flawed system/structure
- Ethno-religious sentiment (that breeds incompetent leaders)
- Over-population
Nigeria is not over populated . We just have high number of unproductive people

Only evidence from serious source will show you are not.

Is the US Central Bank only employing mostly politicians picking like the Central Bank of Nigeria does?

In Nigeria, a lot of Government ministry they employ without notifying the public about it

Without strong leg, you no fit enter NNPC or FIRS.

Without corruption, I doubt Nigeria will be as develop as the city in that your first picture sef

Wetin be Nigeria budget for this year?
Not only Federal government Job. I applied for a job recently in A very popular agric Service provider based in Ogere in OGUN state. I passed the written exams and we were invited for oral interview. I got to know that a member of the board of directors has two candidates that sat for the exam and failed. Yet they were invited for the oral interview. They have already selected the people they wanted even before they notify the public of any vacancy since it was just 2 position that were available.

So my brother, Nepotism is everywhere both in the federal and private sectors. If you no Sabi director or someone higher in the company , u no dey get any job offer Oooo

It was intentionally ‘misunderstood’ for political reasons. In my place a thief is treated with disdain under pain of beating or even death(if you are unlucky). Calling a thief ‘corrupt’ is just trying to water down the fact that he is just a plain shameless thief. We have romanticised the word corruption that it holds no meaning. That was what he meant. If you call a Nigerian politician a thief he will feel it more than when you call him a corrupt politician.

Corruption will go if the parasitic north would only be made to start generating their income and reduce their population that is only being used for political gain.

Re: If Not For Corruption, This Is How So Many States In Nigeria Will Look Like by mediainc: 10:31am On Jan 06, 2022
True...moral of the story, blame your state governors and local government chairman, this is what FG shared to them last year September only, one month.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/10/fg-states-lgs-share-n740bn-revenue/amp/

The President primary responsibility is security and federal infrastructure across the country, the states are supposed to support and impact their people, with all these money, but the governors are driving big big cars, and private jets up and down. Focus on your governors, not Buhari...your money is with your state government.

The crown prince of Dubai is one of the richest person on earth but he still managed to change the fortunes of his country. It's vision.

Saudi Arabia kingdom swim in corruption and yet they develop their place.

Gaddafi turned the fortunes of Libya around and he was still corrupt.

Vision develops a nation. Nigeria leaders lack vision
You are suppose to be my friend. This is exactly what I tell people. Corruption is not the problem of Nigeria but lack of creativity and problem-solving skills.

corruption has permeated every sector, almost everybody is corrupt in Nigeria, except few that refuse to compromise their core values and principles.
Maybe less than 1% of Nigerians not corrupt...

More worrisome is the fact that it's become a normal lifestyles in this part of the world...

Many people don't see it as corruption again...

1. paying exam invigilator to allow you do want you want it's no longer corruption...

2. paying filling station attendants to allow you jump the que it's no longer corruption...

3. paying security men at NIN office to sneak you in through back door so that you who came last will be the first to go it's no longer corruption...

The list is endless

Absolutely! You couldn't have said it any better. And the fact is that this deplorable mindset stems from the backward religions and traditions being practiced in this country.

The relentless drumbeat of expecting miracle money by greedy pastors to their followers and the illusion of superiority of one's customs & traditions over that of the other have created a lazy & toxic society. It will be tough for any country to flourish in such a mentally exhausting climate.

Our large population is an asset... with the use of modern demographic management tools, Nigeria would be the envy of all Nations within 20 years.
