lexy2014:I suggest you go read it up, not just argue on here, the money giving to the state's governors is for the state's needs, infrastructure and welfare of their people, not for the governor's pocket. Yes, the President job is to secure the country, provide jobs via civil service and provide general/federal infrastructure. Defense and state allocations take the biggest chunk off our national revenue. |

Bigredmachine:What exactly do you mean by our mindset or the way we think? Are you saying anyone can divert contract money in China or steal public funds in the UK and not face the consequences? You think a contractor will construct a road in Germany and the road will collapse within three years? Our major problem, following corruption, is the people like you with some level of intelligence yet fail to define our problems as a nation. Nigeria is a corrupt country, period. |

I feel it is greed....they steal not to invest but only steal and stash it. They forgot that stashing paper notes has no value. |

ablejesus26:Imagine that! A girl went to a mall (name withheld) during Xmas & mistakenly gave #4k to a cashier instead of #3k. She returned to the table & the cashier outrightly denied it. One of their sales girls said to the girl, "that one don go be that". I went to open an account at Access Bank (branch name withheld) in Dec. I gave #3k to the lady for the account opening which she stapled to the slip. When I saw the balance after the removal of ATM charge, I was shocked. The only fund in the account was for the ATM. I just had to let it go. Like you mentioned, they call it smartness. And, we all are fast at pointing accusing fingers to the leaders. |

AntonVince:China is also over populated. American also have different ethnicity and are able to manage themselves. Any system can work but it's the level of implementation that matters. Corruption is the major problem of Nigeria. |

I saw one man yesterday driving a luxurious Benz open up his window and throw a bottle of coke on the road after drinking. I swear, I feel like picking a stone and smash his windscreen for this act. On a daily basis I see this, and it makes me to hate some Nigerians. This kind of culture will not make Nigeria to look like any of the pictures you post here. Unless we cultivate very good social attitude and everyone is responsible to making the society clean, we will never have Nigeria like any of those pictures. I've taking a bottle of water all the way from Ojuelegba to Iyana-Ipaja just because I was looking for a proper bin to dispose it. And I'm not joking. I wish everyone will be like me. I see the road as an extension of my house. If we all agree to sweep the society, I probably would be the first to pick a broom. I don't see anything special in those pictures that we don't already have other than we are dirty people and this has become our habitual way of life. |

As much as we'll base it on corruption, over 80% of our politicians lack leadership capacity. They only go there to steal public funds. |
| Re: If Not For Corruption, This Is How So Many States In Nigeria Will Look Like by Nchenches: 10:59am On Jan 06, 2022 |
Bigredmachine:Corruption is not a Nigerian. Nigerians get Corrupt because of the dysfunctional governance system where a few politicians in Abuja form government but are far separated from the citizens; thus can't give proper account of their stewardship to the citizens. |

Trash comment. Are corrupt more than Nigeria? How? How did you even imagine it? Is it that you don't understand how that almost everyone is corrupt in Nigeria? To provide basic amenities in Nigeria is difficult due to corruption. You need to study the levels of corruption in Nigeria. Bigredmachine: |

hansomb:There is different between overpopulated country and productive populated country. China and USA are example of populated productive country. They are populated and they produce something while Nigeria is overpopulated country with unproductive people. We don't produce anything to use for ourselves talk less for other countries we highly depends on oil and imported products. Only what they know how to do is to breed like rats and pray to God for good roads good health facilities good education good leaders as God will come down to give them good leaders and construct roads for them. |

Not corruption but the mindset. The mindset of an average Nigeria is a dark cloud... It's getting worse by the day, that's why we see 14 years old girl child into kidnapping ( the boys own na another case). This country is gone to the dogs and I doubt if we can ever have this sort of development in the photos ever again. |

Bigredmachine:It still balls down to corruption. Our corrupt way of thinking. Other countries like you said are likewise corrupt. But they eventually had leaders that designed a system to checkmate corruption. Cross Rivers benefited for the good leadership of Donald Duke and to day they are still reaping his good works. Fashola and Ambode did the little they could do in Lagos and today Oshodi is a testament. Anambra is also benefiting from Obiano and today they have their own Airport among other things. As much as mindset and thinking plays a major role, we simply need leaders that have the passion to create a desired state/country. Almost everyone is corrupt but true leaders leave a good legacy behind that the world would remember them by. Nigeria as it is now, we don too tear eye. I don't even think we have leaders that will fight corruption cos they are all benefiting from the dividends of a corrupt system and the corrupt 1999 constitution. |
