Agboconsult1:Bro we have a lot of creative architects in 9ja ooo but our Superiors and Mentors think we're crazy with those designs. I'm a graduate arc. & very sure of what I'm saying. During our university days design juries and defence, you just have to see and listen to design concepts from students that are contemporary way above what fellowsdid before. At a time we came up with a design clause "futuristic design" but our senior lectures discouraged us from treading such part, according to them it is an impossible design as long as Nigeria is concerned and we should do away with any design that have to do with steel and glass construction and Many more, this was how they limited the minds of young architects with their impossibility mantra. But I tell you sir we still do contemporary designs with our computers though just for portfolios, someday we will start building our dreams |

DubaiLandLord:There was a time Nigeria had soo much money, the government didn't even know what to do with it...so they decided to share it to the populace....I assure u, this is a true story, when I was told. I kept wondering how incompetent the leadership of the country was at that time... How could u have no idea what to do with money? |

Calebility:It's better to use other references when you want to make comments on civil servants nonchalant attitude or corruption in the civil service, and not the NIN issue. Because the NIN registration has been split between government and private organizations. Private organizations also register the NIN the citizens and NIMC registration also continues and they are the same. About the paper or photocopy of the NIN, the initial customized paper used by NIMC is no longer available. It's just a customized paper. The information on it, is what really matters. It depends on the condition of the printer due to heavy usage, the output might be rough. Lastly, the paper you get doesn't matter, It's the NIN number that's important. And if your data can checked on the NIMC server anytime, anywhere. If you follow the news, NIMC has already declared that they will not issue any hard copy any longer, both temporary and permanent ID can no longer be issued out. They are trying to make the general system computer based, just soft copy. |

lastchild:Oga what you just mention is stealing or thievery not corruption. Corruption is way mightier than limiting it to just stealing public funds. America is more corrupt than Nigeria, just take it bro. The conspiracy against Africa and 3rd world countries going on in US is very alarming. The British taught Buhari and APC on how to practically downplay other region in their selective position just to dwath our growth, just watch they will come in again when election atmospheres start hitting up to manipulate us again and again and again |

God1000:Be deceiving yourself and others, will a state like Adamawa that had a gross revenue (IGR + Federal allocation + loans) of 50bn ($120m) in 2020 build a city like that? That whole money cannot even build one of those highrises you see in that picture not to talk of the elevated 5 lane road. And they must pay civil servants salaries , pensions, fix potholes, grade rural roads, fund primary healthcare, |

Do these advanced countries try to have free quality basic education for all their citizens as quality basic education provides workers for entrepreneurs? Which corruption? You think a stupid person can build what you're looking at there? Everything is not corruption. Stupidity is worse than corruption. A foolish righteous man is worse than a smart corrupt man. Take that to the bank. It takes a shit ton of genius, creativity, planning and consistency to pull off some of the things you people take for granted. You think it's just about having money? You have not met rich people without taste. Money is useless in the hands of a foolish person. One day, people will realise that what happened in Dubai and China within short time required pure genuis. |

God1000:I agree, if it wasn’t for corruption and mentally sick leaders, Nigeria would have even moved pass these pictures. This is why it is extremely important for all Nigerians to use their heads this time around and elect a sensible leader. It makes absolutely no sense for a great country and a bunch of magnificent people to constantly elect blooodyfoools as leaders. |

ivolt:In the West like the United States and Europe, or East Asia like China , Japan and South Korea, their citizens are responsible for development In the Middle East, particularly gulf countries like UAE, Bahrain etc, their government is responsible for development. The major businesses and assets are government owned. Almost all natives of Dubai and Qatar fast in their homes for complete 30 days during Ramadan. Islamic education has priority over scientific education. The Gulf countries are wealthy because their oil Wells are more than their indigenous citizens (UAE, for example, has less than 10 million citizens but more than 5 times the oil reserve available in Nigeria). Let's face it, these are countries where half of their citizens ( female citizens) added nothing to their economy until this past decade when they were even permitted to drive their cars. Do you know that European women dominate even non-scientific jobs like Cabin crew (air hostesses) in Qatar and Emirates Airlines? Saudi women, for instance, were permitted to take air hostess jobs just last year for the first time. It's not like their indigenous architects or engineers designed or constructed any of those high-rise buildings. For instance, every single facility that would be used in Qatar 2022 (FIFA World Cup) was constructed by American or European corporations. They were able to bid for the world cup and renovate their stadia because of oil money. Nigeria on the other hand is a very poor country with rich citizens (The total assets of the top 20 richest people in the country is more than the dollar reserve of Nigeria). The oil Nigeria has can only fund the Niger Delta, where it is found, to be like the developing Arab world. It can't even fund 20 million people talkless of the 200 million+ population of unproductive Nigerians. I agree with you that for Nigeria to grow the country must depend on human resources (its citizens) because it doesn't have more natural resources than human resources like the Gulf countries have. |

God1000:. Not corruption. @bigredmachine answered you well, but he could have used the phrase "our value system". Eg Government will construct water drainage,we will fill it up with plastics, waste foods, deficate inside etc. This is not corruption but value system. |

All the argument and Lamentations means nothing at the same time makes no sense to me. With the black man mentality we are bound to remain stagnant with no progress in sight. The solution is what we're supposed crave for. The earlier we mobilize and bring back the white government, the Americans precisely to help free us from the shackles of poverty and backwardness the better. Any other alternative is suffering and smiling until God knows when. Many may not understand |

What you call "corruption" is actually: - Proxy armies - Foreign-backed stooge politicians - Foreigners looting resources - Grossly unfair trade This and other outside manipulation creates conditions where the manpower and intellectual labor needed in development are occupied by dealing with chaos, or it's gone because people want to escape chaos. It of course also removes the financial resources needed in development. |

Bigredmachine:Corruption is a mentality on it's own, all these things you mentioned still boils down to a corrupt mind. You need to see where a Nigeria politician spend/blow money so as to know the levels of corruption in Nigeria. |
| Re: If Not For Corruption, This Is How So Many States In Nigeria Will Look Like by grandstar(m): 1:44pm On Jan 06, 2022 |
If you think that very low levels of corruption built these, you are wrong. What moves countries from poor to rich isn't the lack of corruption but the quality of their business and economic policies. That is what matters the most. This will lead to rapid economic growth that can move a population from being desperately poor to becoming an upper middle country within 40 years. Singapore went from poor to rich within 30 years That bridge that was posted is in China. China has averaged 8+ % economic growth rate from 1979- 2019. Countries are only able to challenge corruption only once they achieve a properous point |
