My Experience Today At Amahousa In Owerri by splendorian(op): 5:26am On Jan 07, 2022
I was shocked today when I went to Exchange my foreign currency to naira at Amahousa in Owerri.
There is this necklace I have been putting on for a while now. Actually I collected it from a friend and I have been unaware of the worth till this moment.
To cut the whole story short. A Mallam priced it 25k and was ready to pay me if not that I stopped him out of fear and not knowing the actual worth of the necklace.
Here is a picture of it.
Please friends, how do I know the real worth of this necklace?

Doesn’t look like gold but if it’s gold should be worth more

I was surprised when I was told 25k...
But if it's not gold.. Why the pricing then?

It is gold.

The sweat from your body has given it another colour but gold remains gold. You devalued it without knowing its value. You can sell it for about ₦50k at its present value.

Then, you go to a neutral Gold dealer , get it weighed, know the value, decide what you wanna do.

Could it be that the original owner that gave you was unaware of its value too?

The first Mallam that noticed it on my neck, priced it 14k...i was shocked.. I couldn't believe it.. But because I still have some money, I decided to meet another person to confirm the actual worth. The second Mallam priced it 20k..i refused.. He added extra 5k..i was holding the 25k on my palms and I still couldn't sell.. I was just surprised that what I have been wearing all this while could be this costly and I had no idea Abt it..
Tomorrow I will see if I can go to a good place to confirm if it's up to 50k...

Yes the guy that gave it to me was unaware of it.. He works in a hotel as a Housekeeper.. Probably he picked it up while cleaning a room.

Probably pulling your legs if it’s gold that’s easily 300k upwards depends on how many grams.

Meanwhile, bros, at what rate do those mallams in owerri buy dollars now?

Don't be in a hurry to sell the necklace now, unless you're afraid they might steal it.
See it as a saved 65,000naira that may help you solve some emergencies someday.
