'I am Committed To Raising More Leaders', Gov. Umahi Says As He Inspects Ebonyi International Airport | #IgbereTV The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi, FNSE, FNATE, on Saturday evening, reaffirmed his commitment to raising future leaders. The Governor who has made several result-oriented efforts in capacity building of the youths of the Ebonyi State through several programs is relentlessly focused to do more, Igbere TV reports. The Governor made the statement while inspecting the ongoing Ebonyi International Airport located in Oriuozo, Ezza South Council Area of the State. Affirming that building leaders will not only cause the safety and betterment of the future of the State and Ebonyians, the Governor said that it would amount to nothing should he build even a boat without more leaders to secure it. “I want to raise more leaders, leaders that will be useful and committed to securing the future of Ebonyi State. Even if I build a boat without leaders, it would amount to nothing. “ The Governor further admonished the contractors, staff of the Ministry of Infrastructure for Concession, and other professionals working in the Airport site to always insist on quality delivery. He urged them to be consistent and never deviate from quality. “Whatever you are doing, do it very well. Do it in such a way that you will proudly announce it to others tomorrow. “ Going forward, he directed the administrative officers of the ministry to ensure record-keeping of all his directives on-site and the technical team to identify where there is a challenge at least seven days before time. “Every challenge must be identified seven days ahead of time", he said. obyrich:When Akpabio was beautifying akwa Ibom whereas their people were doing boy-boy and househelps in Lagos. Many admonished him, with some calling it misplaced priority, including the airport he built. Today everyone is proud of akwa ibom, and her people are returning home. obyrich:Development frowner, Ebonyi hater. The numerous agricultural produce from Ebonyi state can easily be exported from same airport, likewise the middle class who reside in Abakaliki, Abia. Abia merchants can equally use the airport, road linking Abia and Ebonyi is seamless and will enhance transport of Abia manufactured goods to the Airport. If Yola and Katsina can have airport, why do you stop Ebonyi from having one? Keep groaning, while smart business men are in the back door negotiating with state governments on airport contracts, keep whining. Both Aba and Umuahia are nearer to Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri than this Ebonyi Airport. How many bags of Ebonyi rice were exported out of Nigeria in 2021? I repeat, I am yet to see the justification for the airport project. In no way am I against the achievements of the governor in terms of infra upliftment in Enonyi. If anything, I am a fan of his. Imo, Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi by June by the grace of God One day all Alaigbo will be connected by Airport Abia state will come through one day.
