Does Switching Off Mobile Data Minimized Data Consumptions? by lifezone247(op):
So often people tend to switch off their mobile data. Most times they will tell you they want to preserve their data, some actually did it to preserve battery consultations anyway. But does switching off mobile data actually preserved data usages? Mine is always on 24/7.

It does not, it may limit you from browsing and using data anyhow, It only saves battery...

Once you on data it will synchronize all the Notifications you missed..

Say you switch off your data and received ten messages and twelve pictures and stuff. They're all waiting for your data to come back on to use the same amount of data.

The only way you can save data is leaving your phone idle. Leave YouTube and stop refreshing those social media websites

I think so, there is something called background data usage
Re: Does Switching Off Mobile Data Minimized Data Consumptions? by Gadafii: 3:46pm On Jan 09, 2022
I don't think it does, it rather saves battery life of the phone

If you out your data off for 1 hour, when you put it back on, all the messages and notification will drop, it will still consume the same amount of data it would have consumed if the data was on

I stop background data usage for most of my apps. Then switch off my data when my phone is idle to save data and battery.

It does but it is so much stress turning data on and off so I just let the data stay turned on.

Leaving your data on 24/7 makes your battery drain fast
Re: Does Switching Off Mobile Data Minimized Data Consumptions? by techgen(m): 7:06pm On Jan 09, 2022
For Android users yes...as long as your data is On for example, Google will continue to use it to get your locations...and some apps needs permission to constantly update in the background, which they might not use when your data is off.

I prefer switching off apps background data, I don't like taking calls so i won't want to miss in information by turning off data, well i love this "Smart network allocation" feature on HiOS 8 version

Re: Does Switching Off Mobile Data Minimized Data Consumptions? by BlaqFaze: 7:41am On Jan 10, 2022
Yes... especially for Tecno phones, the OS has ADS in it, so if you leave your data on the ads keep updating

That's not true, it does not only save battery.
There are many background apps that feed on your data

Since you've disabled background data why switch off data again?
Whether it's on or not you won't receive any background notifications

I only switch off to save battery and avoid annoying notifications

no bro, leaving your phone data ON while charging reduces your battery life and makes the phone hot.

It’s just fear of losing data that’s the issue. Modern smartphones come with settings that limit data background usage and therefore is up to the user to customize as see fit. Personally my data is on and never off and that has no significant bearing on my consumption pattern. It finishes as I would expect. Turning it off won’t make you save data, it just means delayed notifications.
