This particular fruit makes me remember childhood.
We had the tree in our yard and in the school premises.
I and my friends got into trouble severally while throwing stones at this fruit both at home and in school.

We all called this fruit 'fruuit of frunt'.

Do you remember this fruit?
What is the English name and how do you call it in your native language?
Indian Almond.... With the botanical name Terminalia catapa

Somebody once told us the tree of this fruit we have in our compound. He said if the root gets to the foundation of the main building the head of the family will die. We did nothing though.

It's either you're a rich brat or an Indomie generation.

Back in the day, after eating the succulent part of the fruit, we'd still munch on the hard inner shell, las las na stone we go use Scatter the shell to remove the very soft and sweet NUT.

But I never said it was almond. It's tropical almond. That's different from almond just like grapefruit is different from grape, pineapple different from apple and watermelon different from melon. It's just the name but it's not really almond.
