Now to the topic, I am not against Tinubu presidency neither am I in support of it cos I don't know him too well. When he was a governor, I was not interested in politics or probably too young to know beyond federal politics.

My assertion is based on religion sentiments in the country.
We all know that the president is a Muslim and Tinubu who might succeed him is also a muslim, now the question is when the north takes back power in 2031 and gives it to a Muslim will the country accept it, we know that the country has a lot of bigots and extremists, both christians and muslims.
Won't this cause an uneasy development in the country having Muslims rule for 26years

@Michelle70 the problem with the Nigerian political scene is hydra headed. It goes beyond ethno-religious coloration.

There is hunger in the land with a lot of betrayals going on among brothers just for a spoon of porridge. The issue of ethnicity and religious bias came up ONLY because the people are not getting what they deserve - GOOD GOVERNANCE.

If we have good leadership, ethnicity/religion won't matter.

Until we restructure our value system, because even if the "right" person comes out for election, Nigerians will still reject him. We tend to value crooks more because of instant gratification - still the hunger issue.

I don't think there is hypocrisy in his submission.

The absence of good governance has made people to focus on the wrong "problems," thereby given them more prominence than the things that really need to be tackled.

Good question

For equity, fairness and balance, the president should be a Christian. But if APC decide to field Tinubu a Muslim and his vice from the north a Muslim, it means PDP will do the spoiler. This is how... PDP will wait for APC to have their primaries first, if Tinubu emerges PDP will head north for its candidate, but if any other candidate of Christian faith emerges PDP will revert to the south. For now pdp are only waiting to see what becomes of the apc primaries in the coming months
