Cube (1997)

Easily one of the best claustrophobic horrors I've ever seen. I've always like movies about people in tense situations. The picture begins with what appears to be a giangetic cube filled with several little compartments, some of which contain lethal traps. The main characters quickly meet and begin asking themselves questions about how they got there, why they're there, and so on. What I like about it is that they are all unique.

The plot revolves around how the characters evolve as they move from one room to the next. They gradually remove their masks, revealing what people are capable of doing in a tense situation. Without giving too much away, I'll tell you that they only got what they deserve.

The Master (2012)

A hypnotic, captivating, and enigmatic film. A film in which the format concentrates on the smallest of things: a character study that focuses on our protagonist's (and Lancerster's) mentality and role in society.

Joaquin Phoenix's Joker portrayal is excellent, but I think his performance here is by far the finest I've seen from him; part of that may be because it's grounded in a much better film (and a better-written role), but I still appreciate the liveliness and mumbling he brought to this role.

Dune (2021)

Wow, wow, wow. I won't say Dune is just a good movie, I feel like the word "good" is not the best to describe how this movie made me feel. Dune is out of this world, it is spectacular. A lot of talent was employed for the making of this film. You can see the mind of the author and it is so clear. They manage to communicate his ideas effectively and oh my, whatever inspired that dude.

A lot of time and hard work was put into this, you'd think those planets are out there somewhere. Is it the setting, dialogue, culture, audio, CGI, everything is on expert level.
The only drawback to this movie would be the plot (expect nothing new). I'm not going to spend time commending the acting, it's a star studded cast so you know what to expect. The director deserves all the accolades, good work.

Wherever the author is, I can only imagine how fulfilled he must be with this film. I don't want to give away any spoilers, just watch the movie if you haven't. This is actually the first part of the film, the second part will be released in 2023. Can't wait!

Wow! I didn't know that the latest Spidey has hit the $1 billion mark, the box office is around $1billion 600 million or thereabouts, that was so fast, I see it making $2 billion plus before April, damn! shocked

I commend Marvel , they did a great job bringing all spider actors together, although I haven't seen the movie yet, I'm waiting for the Blu-ray version to be out because I love watching crystal clear movies. grin

Sing 2 (2021) 6.5/10

Sing 2's premise starts out promising a bigger event than the first movie but ends up not meeting that mark. Feels like this one was targeted at Disney's much younger audience with the mustache twirling villain and new characters that mostly weren't fleshed out.

At least, we still have the fire covers of popular music tracks to enjoy and vibe to and Ms Crawly's still keeping it lively.

Sing 2's decent and all but the story just feels like an excuse to have the cast sing covers of some more songs that they probably couldn't fit into the first movie.

Dune will win the Academy Award for Best Picture. No one can persuade me otherwise.

Just saw 300 and 300: Rise of Spartans , I have to say I enjoy this style of fighting sequence.

Spartacus used same pattern... will probably download Spartacus from season 1 to see again.

Now while there a lot of top tier movies, one movie I can watch over and over again is Edge of Tomorrow (Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt did a fantastic job on that movie. Its my go-to movie. )

The fight style; Slow mo effect not the film itself...E.g, Would you honestly rather rewatch Superman vs Flash(only) or Makkari vs Ikaris(only)....

Catch my drift now??

For only you bros

I'm sure I'm not the only one.

To clarify, I'm not talking about the movie itself, I'm talking about slow mo effects of that nature in fights....
It's cool if done well(300, Spartacus), becomes agonizingly insipid and sigh inducing if employed in every other fight scene or scene in general(ZJL)..

But is there any movie which used this pattern and twas a burst?

The slow-mo effects, with blood gushing and staining the lens/screen and it didn't do well?

Just asking.

Which part do you prefer? 1 or 2?

Said it earlier on this thread, I will pick Sing over sing 2 in anytime.

Spartacus did...
I was referring to incessant slow mo footage even when it isn't needed, not the creative overcranking choice in 300 which made the film very popular...

If done well, it is amazing (Matrix series popularized Bullet time ), if done all the time, it becomes a drag...
