We've seen and heard how presidential aspirants have been consulting ex heads of state like OBJ, IBB,
and Abdulsalam, including Gen. Aliyu Gusau and Gen. Theophilus Danjuma who are not heads-of-state.

My question is, why is Genera Gowon being left out or ignored when touring/consulting by these aspirants or politicians? Is it that Gowon is irrelevant in the present national discuss?

Gowon supported the jihadist war against the Christians Igbo and south south. He was the one who supported creation and division of south East and poison the minds of Eastern minorities against the greater Igbo nations.

It is because they know that Gen Gowon is very fatherly and will treat all of them equally

Gen Gowon is completely apolitical to a fault

he will not support one against another

Gowon has no political capital at all because he was a figure head Head of State with little or no power base when he was C in C outside of officers of his Angas tribe who were few and were eventually neutered after their coup that killed Murtala.

Politicians seek the support of influential people to boost their chances, they know Gowon has no influence over any constituency, not in the army, not even his own region
