Well, I don’t support the Feds and the kind of treatment they are handing out IPOB NK, but mehn, all these sits at home is starting to disrupt the ordinary life of a taxi driver like me and it’s beginning to get on my nerves.

I just want to vent.

Imagine o, I’ve driven to all my favourite spots where they make better pepper soup fish to break my fast for the day o, no show! First spot I went to in Obolloafor all the way from Nsukka (I like this guy’s recipe. His fish is sweet o – old people sweet, and I like it not all those people that use plenty curry and medemede to make soup) guy told me no fish o, that he was still expecting and would give me a call once the fish comes. I said ok, but then I need break this fast; damn the hunger pangs!. I decided I wasn’t gonna wait for him, no problem I’ll do his fish tomorrow, so decided to check out another of my favourite spot in orba, but this time around goatmeat pepper soup and agadi to send it home(that kind thing). Normal normal by 1 to 2pm, my guy would have finished arranging the pepper soup and all, but when I got there around 2:45pm and he was still arranging the spice and ingredient, I just knew something was wrong. Damn the hunger pangs, the kept throbbing and throbbing. When I asked him what the issue was, he said it was my brothers, that they had everyone on hostage and he had to go source for beer first before arranging the goat meat. I stood there and dried up (would have been better if I said it in igbo, because the English transcription doesn’t carry this expression wella – you get the point. I just stand tire.)

Well, hunger still panging and penging still, I wasn’t about to give up. I remember this other outlet in Nsukka (Fish Republic), I was wondering why I didn’t think of her first. After I was done with some business transactions in Orba, I drove straight to Fish Republic to find the whole place dry. Suffice to say I was there the previous evening, and they told me their fish was finished till tomorrow, then it dawned on me; IPOB had done a fast one on me.

Till now I never break the fast oh because na chew I wan chew, I no wan eat. I dey on my second bottle of Starlite sha dey reason dey matter. Good enough I no dey feel the hunger pangs again. I go eat anytime I enter house finally.

I just say make I vent.
