University nursing is a five year course and u would be awarded a Bachelor in Nursing Science (BNSc) degree, while school of nursing is a 3 year course and u get a Registered Nurse RN/RNM kind of like a diploma. in the nursing hierarchy BNSc is higher than RN. As for specialty after BNSc, u can go for your masters in any specialty while with RN u go for a 12-18 month post basic in any of the nursing specialty. hope this helps. source: ejihijustice 16 Likes |

Zinpat: Nursing in the University is better and cheaper in terms of tuition fee. Try federal universities and you won't pay much unlike the school of Nursing that you will pay #250k and above per session 3 Likes |

Lol, no let anyone deceive u... if u no go u no go know Nursing school its the best in nigeria nd most needed in oversea... do u know wat its takes to be an RN nursing holder.. na only RN sabi nursingjob the main professionalism and ethic pass ask around ...lol u think dat 3years na joke .. see finish nursing school u then enter direct entry for university study nursing means u will start from 3 level u just spend 2 more years u don get bsc be dat.. by then wen u finish nursing school u don know every for nursing so bsc go easy for u... u know the rest story nah.......   5 Likes 1 Share |

Uyi168: You are not totally wrong or right. I’m universities, you get the professional certificate (RN after you must have passed the exam) and you can also do some others professional exams (RM, RPHN, depends on your school and your choice) and also get a university degree (BNSc) but in schools of nursing, you only get a professional certificate (RN) 3 Likes 1 Share |

Zinpat: There’s nothing like preferable Nursing in the university beats nursing in SON by far. People in SON still come back to do BNSc. So use that as a yardstick The only reason I will ask you to go to SON is if you are already old or you cannot enter into the university. Killerbag36: Lol so nursing school is the best but you still need to enter university with the nursing school certificate before you are recognized. lol Point of correction when you enter university with nursing school you will start at 200level nor 300.. The only advantage nursing school have over BNSc is working experience which they get while studying and also after school because it’s just two years so that’s why it’s easier to enter uk for SON grass’s. 3 Likes |
