Aforxzy:We should reason before we talk. IRK students face worst things than these. However the pastor of that church could even be their father. |

jesusjnr2020:I could imagine what some men of today will have done if they were in the position of Christ when the disciples couldn't watch for an hour with him. Flog them? ![]() Or when they couldn't cast out demon, cut their hands? ![]() |

Ayo081:So what would you have said of Jesus when He did this? John 2:15-16 (KJV) And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. That He didn't forgive His brothers? I have already told you, you can't discern the difference between discipline and forgiveness. God forgives more than anyone else, and when it comes to loving His own, no one else comes close, yet it is said that whom He loves, He disciplines. Hebrews 12:5-8 Anyone who has an idea of what God could make those He loves go through for love, would know it's far more than making them to knee down, but I won't be surprised if you would see God as being wicked and unforgiving for making them go through such chastening. You would say it's heartless for Him to have disciplined His only begotten Son, and sent Him into the wilderness starving for 40 days after He said, "this is My beloved Son in whom I'm well pleased", but "wisdom is justified of her children. Though there wasn't much said of Jesus disciplining His disciples, but Jesus was an epitome of God in Human form, so I wouldn't be surprised if He punished them a few times where need be. It can be shown from His stern rebukes of some of them, for instance, when He said "get behind me Satan" to Peter. The work of God is not a joke but a very serious business, so discipline is key to ensure His workers do not fall asleep but were ever ready, so as to not give the devil any room to exploit. I would liken it to a military camp, where drilling is necessary to prepare the soldiers for war. As long as the motive is right, I don't have any issue with those youths being made to knee down for late coming. Moreover if they're disciplined that way in school for going late, why not in church which is supposed to the spiritual version of it? |

jesusjnr2020:I wouldn't want you to know that I am a believer of Christ. So some part of what you mentioned above doesn't apply to me. ![]() I don't mean to say I'm perfect and know so much; infact I know nothing.. ![]() That Jesus would have disciplined his disciples? Don't make me laugh ![]() Same disciples He thought that none is the greatest amongst them and whoever wants to be great must serve? ![]() Same disciples He thought to not Lord it over them (others) like the rulers of the world? ![]() Same disciples He thought to be faithful and wise servants taking care of other servants? ![]() Now tell me, if Christ has been that man that use rod on them at every opportunity in the name of discipline would they have gone so far to believe Him and even laying their lives? ![]() They saw what He preached, remember Christ even prayed on the Cross that Father forgive them for they don't know what they're doing? As for why he drove them out of the temple? I wouldn't want to believe that you didn't get the message and you could compare it to the topic of lateness here? ![]() Christ didn't talk about disciplining those who come late for his sermons (sermon on the mountain) infact He fed them; including those who must have arrived late ![]() I wouldn't to guess that the discipline today aside knelling down will include not feeding (word and food) the servants. ![]() PS: As for Peter? Really? ![]() May God help us. |

Ayo081:The bolded alone shows you haven't got the least idea but think it's something to joke about, so no point taking you seriously, being someone who jokes about things I consider to be the most serious things of this life. So have a nice time laughing. |

jesusjnr2020:I see, how asking other servants to kneel is the most serious thing of life to you ![]() While Christ himself ask no one (in Him) should Lord over others like the gentiles do How serious? ![]() |
