Yes there are many extreme and ridiculous conspiracy theories out there - and also with regard to Covid-19. Nevertheless I am a little wary of those who denounce anything that has a tinge of conspiracy in it on account of only that. Because the opposites of conspiracy theorists are not objective rationalists - the opposites are those who are so extreme in the other direction that they dont believe humans ever conspire at all.

Infact, it aways better to err on the side of caution.

For good example, very often I get sensations on my chest. 100% of the time it either heartburn, muscle cramps, or cold related. Each time it happens, it makes me anxious, scared that it might be heart related. Each time, I stop whatever I'm doing and go to my doctor. Each time the doctor checks my BP, heart rate, lungs and occasionally ECG. And Each time the doctor assures me thar my hearth fine and healthy. Each time I go home relieved and ready to continue my hustles.

Sure, go ahead and call me paranoid. But at any given period of time , I hear and know people who suffered cardiac arrests died. So why shouldn't I be paranoid about my health?

This is the way responsible governments around the World feel about the health and safety of their citizens, especially in the face of a global pandemic.
The last pandemic killed about 30 million people.
Now that we the advanced medical science, technology and information, it behoves every responsible government to go above board to safeguard the health and well-being of their citizens.
So, in my opinion, the governments and health authorities should do the same over and over again if the situation warrant it.

Conspiracy theories, almost by definition are irrational, almost like religion. They ignore all known facts( information easily available in the public domain) and project beliefs as truths. Sometimes a very little thinking is required to see that something doesn't make sense. They also try to sell the notion that they are privy to something Secret that no one else know. It is always a make it up as you go thing. They are like Nigeria prophets.
They tell you a prominent person is going to die this year or that something tragic is going to happen.
