An unspecified number of passengers are feared dead when a train in motion crushed a Dangote cement truck and a commercial tricycle in Kano State.

The incident occurred on Obasanjo Road in Kano metropolis at about 11:30 am on Sunday.

An eyewitness, who is a trader beside the rail track, said he noticed the truck moving towards the rail line, as the train was in motion.

According to the witnesses, efforts made to flag down the trailer were not fruitful.

“As the driver of the trailer attempted to cross the rail line, the train hit the vehicle and the tricycle simultaneously,” said one of the witnesses.

Meanwhile, another eyewitness said that the passengers in the tricycle were rushed to the hospital unconscious.

As of the time of filing this report, the trailer is still overturned with Good Samaritans evacuating the bags of cements loaded on the truck.

Security agents are also on the ground to prevent hoodlums from looting the goods.

With this growing report of train-related accidents , it will be nice to have an agency equivalent to FRSC to enforce, educate and ensure safety and insurance of all railway related transportation.

Serious, train that we know usually horn from afar and it's
continuously, aside the horn, the noise and vibration also sends
strong signals. I'm sure they saw the train but will want too run and
cross the railway very fast.

I am sorry, I do not feel sorry for the Dangote truck driver cos of their various road atrocities.

The way the Dangote truck drivers oppress pedestrians, cars, vans and smaller trucks on the road, you will think Nigerian roads are meant for only Dangote trucks.

Dangote trucks keep claiming lives per second but as the richest man in Africa, he is above the law. Where the laws work, uncountable compensations Dangote will keep paying to the families of his victims will be enough to reduce him from being a billionaire to almost nothing.
