Is the Alaafin of Oyo a prisoner or is his Palace a prison. Even the Queen of England visits other countries.

Some conversations are better avoided, especially when the intentions are are mischievous.

I think what that poster is referring to is what has emerged as the "footloose-and-fancy-free attitude" of some of our monarch's these days, which is quite at variance with what ought to be their stately dignity.

Warri has many things in common with the Yorubas, especially the Yoruba extract of Ondo, I feel the artificial boundary makes brothers draw apart, if not these people are Yorubas both in names they bear and the language they speak.
Just say Itsekiri. Warri covers beyond Itsekiriland. Warri comprises of Urhobo, Ijaw and Itsekiri. The Olu only has control over his Itsekiri part of Warri.

Hausa Fulani created the division to steal Yoruba oil in the Delta of Western Nigeria together with the Ziks and Yoruba enemies they divided the Western Region to stagnate the rapid development of the West, they North and East couldn't keep up so they decided to Jail Awolowo, take Yoruba oil, and since then they moved the money to Abuja and North. For over 45yrs there is no development going on in the West. The Easterners and Northerners are just after Yorubaland because it's a land flowing with Milk and Honey.

The itsekiris don't own warri they only control a section of the town uhrobos and the ijaws are more populated than them.

Everything has change and that is one of the reasons most of them has lost their respect.

It's no use monarchs gluing their ass to the throne expecting the world to come to them. Monarchs should be the chief diplomat for his people, building relations and alliances with other leaders and people. In The past kings lead in front on the battlefield.

The Queen of England has left Buckingham Palace and visited numerous countries in her younger days includung Nigeria, Ghana and Zimbabwe, does that make her any less respected?

Believe me some kings like the Oba of Benin and Olu of Warri who are not involved with politics still command a lot of respect both locally and internationally.

Even the Ghanaian president respects the olu of warri. He was received by Nana Akufo-Addo when he went holiday in ghana.

Fair enough and quite agreed, was just noting what that poster may have had in mind. Although there is one particular monarch I believe, whose ubiquity is in my humble opinion, a bit over the top.

Be dragging IJaws into the picture. What part of Warri belongs to the IJaws? Is it the little Ogbe-Ijoh market that is not even under Warri South LGA , maybe you are referring to Warri South-West LGA.

point out the areas that belongs to the Ijaws, and i was even expecting you to list the areas that you said belongs to the Ijaws in Warri metropolis.

How on Earth could a Traditional Ruler of this level be living his palace and be running to Abuja to see Buhari? Look at how we've succeeded in making mess of our traditional institutions, thereby creating room for jss1 politicians to ride on us like fools. God help us.
