Finally am not alone in this, mine was since January, I have written twice and the reply I got was “Due to the COVID I should exercise patients and would be notified once there is an interview date”.. it’s already taking a year

Great discussions so far. I don't know if this is the right place but here is my enquiry.

I am being transferred by my company to our USA office (L1 visa), i intend marrying my fiancee so she can join me(L2 visa).
We filled in at a Local government registry few days ago, however someone informed me that LGA weddings are not acceptable.

I have done some research and complained to the guys at the registry that it must be an authentic certificate and they showed me a sample with the Nigerian coat of arms stating "certificate of marriage" in green.

Big question is - Does the US embassy reject LGA issued marriage certificate?

Anyone with experience or knowledge should please help

My fiancé and I recently got engaged and would like to get married in Nigeria but considering the ban that happened last year we are a bit sceptical. Has the ban truly been removed? Or should be just go and apply for the fiancé visa?

It depends on the service center used. Ask your friend which one of the service centers he used.

Nebraska service center is the fastest at the moment followed by Texas service center.

I don’t think that’s a good idea. They might send it to another service center eventually.

My wife sent mine to Texas….Texas sent it to Potomac.
