YORUBAS: Why Southern Unity And Not Western Unity? (NW/SW) by MrMaestro: 8:23pm On Jan 29, 2022
It’s become quite clear that there is nothing that will bring the south together as the igbos have made it their mission to attack Tinubu as they have done with Awolowo, MKO Abiola, and every other political juggernaut in the region to prevent the strongest political candidate from reaching power.

Meanwhile the Northerners continue to support Yorubas. Continue to partner with Yorubas such as the Norther Dangote building the most massive refinery in Africa in Lagos state instead of his own Kano state. Femi Otedola and Dangote seem to be close friends and work together. The NW focus on Agriculture and farming production, while SW focuses on Tech, law, and financial services. It’s honestly a great combination as the strengths match perfectly.

Whether it be business, politics, and anything else, there’s a natural harmonious collaboration between the two regions whenever it happens. Meanwhile whenever igbos get any sort of interaction with Yorubas they either curse the natives and say they own Lagos. Or they curse their politicians and say they are evil and corrupt.

So my question stands:

WHAT BENEFIT HAS A SOUTHERN UNITY BEEN FOR YORUBAS AND HOW IS IT BETTER THAN A WESTERN UNITY WITH THE NW IN THE CONTEXT OF NIGERIA?

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY.

Agreed 100% honestly. The stagnation of the Yorubas have come from the south East. When Goodluck Jonathan was in office SW rightfully pointed out how they were being marginalized in the administration. And the igbos were supporting it that it Yorubas should continue to be marginalized. Why on earth do Yorubas even want unity with a people that have proven from the moment Ojukwu wanted to march towards Yorubaland that these people have set Yorubas as their enemies forever.

The NW is a much MUCH better ally to have in my book.

Any unity that give one group edge over another is a scam
Same thing south is fighting north of,
You have led for 8!years and because Igbo refuse to allow you lead again disunity comes
What do you take people as?
If not because of rotation and zoning no Yoruba will smell presidential seat
Ask awolowo and abiola what they did to them

Common sense entails equality and that's what we stand on
Don't come and use that your sophisticated warp sense on us

Did I just read that there is a collaboration\ alliance between north and SW ?

It's either you are naive or you just started following politics in 2015..

Do you think that Nigeria started in 2015 ? Smh..

Don't worry,.. By 2023 you will understand what politics is all about proper.. You will understand if the north is using you or if there is really a collaboration/ alliance..

Ask Pa Awolowo, Abiola or Kemi Adeosun.

Smh once again

Let’s go down the record shall we?

Goodluck Jonathan was known to marginalize Yorubas in his administration and Igbos were in full support of it.

Obasanjo the puppet with an Igbo mom that PDP wanted to elevate over MKO, the real Yoruba candidate, FROZE Lagos assets and set out to KILL Lagos’ economic prosperity before it began.

Meanwhile during just 8 yrs of the Buhari Administration representing SW/NW partnership we have:

- Lagos to Ibadan rail
- Rail lines connecting Lagos, Abeokuta, Ibadan.
- Lagos Metro Red and Blue Line partly financed by Buhari administration
- Northern investment into Lagos tax and economy with the Dangote refinery (largest in Africa)
- MASSIVE Norther support for any Yoruba candidate (both Osinbajo and Tinubu)

All without saying they “own Lagos” or looking to assassinate Yoruba political candidates online and social media. They simply do it because we supported them in the last election. They have something the Igbos will NEVER have, honor and integrity.

So my question to Yorubas is: What else must northerners do to prove to you that they are much better partners than those in the south East that hate you every second they can and do whatever they can to stop your progress??

You see the difference between the igbos and Yorubas is that the Yorubas don’t have a victim mindset, no one is using anyone. The SW has benefitted greatly in infrastructure in their partnership with the NW, as outlined above.

I have a very simple question for you: Give me 1 single way the SW has benefitted from a partnership with the SE? Outside of igbos saying they own Lagos up and down of course.

It baffles me how some few Yoruba have focused on Igbo as their empediment to reaping from apc alliance and yet igboland votes are inconsequential. Is it guilty conscience of knowing the fact that for equity sake, Igbo should be supported to produce Nigeria president come 2023. Why should the activities of Jonathan an Ijaw man by tribe be equated with Igbo? But thank God for the good people of Yoruba land who are campaigning openly for Igbo for equity sake.

Igbo didn't give way for Yoruba, Igbo man contested against Obasanjo and lost, let Umahi, or whoever defeat Yoruba man in the primary and see if Yoruba APC will not support an Igbo winner of the primary in the general election

You can only count on Yoruba support in general election but the primary is strictly party affairs

Obasanjo was not a consensus candidate rather he was the (true owners of Nigeria's) choice whilst the yorubas rallied behind Olu Falae.

Ibos did not support the yorubas in that election but as it's usual with them, they simply followed their perennial master's wish. Infact, ibos have never supported the yorubas at any time in our short history, as Nigerians.

Same way they aligned with the north as underdog-cum asslicker in the 1st republic. In the 2nd republic, after the civil war, they once again took up position beneath the fulanis.
