I have noticed a phenomenon over the years of Nigerian movie directors using big mansions and cars in their productions. It's okay if it helps the plot, but most times, the storyline would be perfectly depicted using a more relatable average Nigerian house and car. In American movies, you hardly see them portray superlative riches unless it's relevant to the plot.

Has any other person noticed this or it's just me?
It's not only you. Quite common and silly. You'd see an unemployed man living in a mansion, driving a car and having servants. How is that possible in real life?

I think they feel a portrayal of the real Nigeria may not be appealing to the international audience hence the need to use unrealistic props

That is not the main issue the issue is their attitude of living fake life is appalling. Their fakdness always reveal the moment any of them fall sick then you will be wondering someone who was displaying mansion and cars could not afford N5milion health bills then you begin to wonder what the hell is going on.

Africans should stop using the west as a yardstick. Most of their movies are fake.
Its a bout being realistic here.
How can a lady wake up which perfect make up. Is that realistic.
I dont watch their movies few times I look at it, I am disgusted in less thean 10 minutes.
You can tell the end from the begining of a movie and nothing mind blowing in these movies.
Nothing to get your mind thinking

It is only in Nigerian movies U leave d village for the City and U automatically make it big... Every King is stupendously Rich with mansions and maids..
What you just said is reality, alot of people come to the city from villages and make it bigger than the ones born in the city, and the second? Go to the Oba of Lagos palace and see for yourself, they act reality in form of stories but I don't watch them..
Peace.

Oba of Lagos is an A-list traditional ruler and d Oba of a whole state not village. Ppl don't go to d city from the village and become millionaires and Billionaires in months like the movies show. How many villages or communities have top tier recognised traditional rulers?

Virtually every Naija home video does this.

That’s where Naija girls have gotten their craze for big “Jeeps”, mansions and marrying Princes
