I have had this idea for a while but I didn't know who to give it to but here is it basically Uber is a service, and there should be flexibility I think you guys should bang together and form your own service, it will be an annual membership scheme, each passenger will pay money per trip in small doses like 40 naira to cover insurance cost for all drivers for damages based on the quality of the car, then add a flexible price per kilometer based on location + time and send the proposals to drivers in that zone, they will propose a price to the rider based on their experience traversing that route and how much they want the job Like all things, riders will pick based on price offered and rating Everything can be decentralized and only a small change can be removed per transaction like 20naira for service maintenance and other benefits For those drivers that like to hug urban areas, you can put various features like 5 trips per area, but you have encourage them to drive in areas that they are more accustomed to, preferably where they live, little intuitive features like that to keep everybody happy and the service solvent Add ride sharing, the passenger will book a destination at a time and if a driver is close, he picks them and they share the ride cheaply, social media people will love it, at a fair price it will drag with public transportation, billions of naira on offer, particularly if you have broad participation, Nigerians have stigma issues so you can call that service another name and any driver that does bad once is removed, people will meet and socialize, it will be a trending habit, too many empty cars on the road I feel for you guys, if you have a union and band together, you can make a good living if you love driving while getting good money There can be loans and credit facilities, insurance for it's drivers, even pensions, even car damage and maintenance insurance, the options are endless, social mobility is very possible in your industry, you people just need to realize that you are more important than the middle man |

Muhammadson2020:Yet to see any, but avoid bus stop trips, avoid new riders as much as you can. Estate trips and known indriver clients are better for now. |

Havertz10:Trying to digest this deeper, but first impression is starting/forming another ehailing service owned by a group of drivers. And MO Is shared ride offered by a driver who commutes in a certain place. Correct me if I am wrong. |

Please if you are the guy i saw last week, at Ikeja City Mall and you are reading this msg, i will like to know the colour of your greed, why will you allow a rider to load 5 bags of rice in your car. Initially i saw the 2 trolley guys loading each rice, i assumed it was 3 bags, only for them to bring 2 additional bags, i was watching you with bewilderment when the 4th bag was loaded, as you started scratching your head and inspected your left and right back tyres. 5 bags of rice, i just said, it must be a mind boggling fantastic offline trip, i hope it is, but if it is not then you must either be a jpworld driver, or one of those on 35k weekly rental, because i doubt if it was your car or on HP deal, you would load 5 bags of rice into the booth. If the car was a Camry i would have suspected it was our good brother Mr.B , but it was a corolla. You now got into the car, moved like for like 2 seconds, got down and appealed to your rider to come and sit in the front, did you tell your rider that he might be the "feather that breaks the proverbial camel's back. |

Sunday surge took me to iba junction (after the crazy traffic from egbeda to power line) I was desperate to leave that axis and got a trip to Ikeja. Lo and behold I saw 6 adults and I told them NO. I parked there to watch if another driver will reject them but a driver came through and took them. How can adult lap in a bolt ride? MoonlightDrive: |

16inchdick:Now is the best time to Japa, no time to waste time, very soon Yankee, UK, Canada etc will start closing their borders to Nigerians. Don't test any water. There are better opportunities there than here. Didn't you see Uncle Dru living large in the US. Driving nice cars and eating good and quality meals over there. Hanging out in exotics and exclusive places over there. My brother there is life over there than here. Quality life, Good health care system, sound Education with funded scholarships, security, light dey 247, mouth watering jobs that can fetch an average of 70,000 dollars in a year. Thats like 40,000,000 Naira in a year. My brother use your head and make hay when the sunshine. The earlier the better. |

Josephase:The driver is not the owner of the car. If they do car maintenance themselves they wouldn't try such. Nah owner dey do maintenance, thats why they can carry anything in exchange for peanuts. |

Havertz10:You have spoken well, but this goes beyond evaluation. What you are saying is more like forming a union that will eliminate middle man, that way rides become cheap somewhat which lead to increase in turn around time for drivers due to increase in riders. The first problem is unionism, an average black man is not really good with handling power, transparent and accountable. The second is the government, one can't avoid not paying tax for long. They will obviously find a way to get their dues. About the empty cars, I'll say is the season. Well! Reduction in price in place where there's no heavy percentage would have generate more riders. That's true, but every driver have a limit enough, there's a limit fixed factor (driver) can accept variable factors ( riders), else he will break down. Which means, a driver should project a number of trips with good return per day to stay afloat in business with good health. There's really no value in doing cheap15 trips per day at almost the same rate of doing 5 reasonable trips at not so friendly price per day regardless of turn around time. Humble submission |
