This thread is such a disgrace to humanity.

See grown men typing “vawulence”, like da Fvck?

I guess nothing works in black man country, even a simple thread designed to post ideas and experiences has been corrupted. Like leaders like followers.

One would think these are secondary school students shouting “vawulence”, sorry, I meant primary school students.

I can’t believe I thought I’d come here to update myself on any new info or things to watch out for. How naive of me, this is the Black man after all.

So irritating!

INdriver has started paying Tax to Lagos State Government, after the incidence of Task Force arresting drivers happened. I noticed some changes on their dashboard earnings, V.A.T is now included with commission.

So any arrest by law enforcement agencies regarding you using inDriver as illegal, Resist the arrest.

Havertz10:
drafting it out will be hard but its fundamentals are feasible, sustainable and with growth potential for all parties

let me give you some context for starters, uber doesnt make money, they provide customers with very cheap prices, guess the idea was to adjust it at scale but it hasnt scaled like expected thats due to so many factors but i think the main reason is because people look at the venture as a risky investment, thats why autonomous driving is the new buzz word for the future of the business model because the truth is you need plenty drivers for the system to work well

whats the roi for 2.5m using uber? considering the risk that your driver has to face and degradation to the car, and the drivers in particular are seriously missing out, the only way uber works is at scale and to get uber to scale you need customers, the problem here is while you need more customers enticed by cheap prices, you also need your percentage of drivers to increase to make the entire business model solvent, fewer drivers and cheap customers, means that the drivers arent earning enough and the business model will struggle cause it's not a worthwhile investment for drivers

for every 10k you make you are causing ~4k worth of passive damage to that car, and with more than 200,000 moving parts, those errors can escalate real quick, if we factor other variables, the odds are stacked against you as a driver or company owner, that's why social mobility is very low in its current form, logistics is a very profitable business model but it requires scale to work, if you dont scale it properly, it wouldnt work, what i propose is a method to the madness, orderliness in the system and a process that allows pricing to be defined by supply and demand

customer drop a location and time for the trip and its shared to various drivers that are in that proximity and they all pick a price that is favorable to them for instance, ajah to v.i can have a range of between 3000 and 5000, a driver can propose 2500 maybe he is heading home and such a trip is bearly an inconvenience, if not then it's 5000 but each trip must have a guaranty of profit for the driver, you can avoid saturation within various hot spots with cost benefit features for drivers, take a particular figure every month for insurance and people can actually build a life with such investments

you asked for an example

Let me use the ride sharing cause I personality think that there is money in that space, one thing that I noticed was that after work hours, most people drive their cars empty and its not because they cant share the ride, there isn’t a good system to link prospective riders to prospective customers, think about how many people will get home quicker, limiting traffic congestions, if more cars on the roads assisted in carrying passengers, a driver can be going to Ajah by 4pm, he advertises his route and people that will be along his path can book rides to meet up along the expressway for a fee, instead of driving empty, a driver can carry 3 passenger or more depending on how many you want to accommodate and also the preference of the passengers, if you want to share with less people the price increases, people can make serious money while doing it, this can happen anywhere in lagos on any route, based of the way Nigerian society stigmatize certain things, you can give it a name that doesn’t paint the driver in a bad light and makes such services appear hip like “carpooling ride shares”

if you are working in vi and you stay at Ajax, you can find ride shares that will leave when you close for a price that is slightly more that you would have paid using a bus and also provide comfort

I haven’t even factored the societal good that it will bring, if its properly regulated and maintained, with strict guidelines, and top class customer service because people need to understand that you care about them, if you have cars on the road doing this everyday, some can use it to fuel their car home from work each day, some will bond, others will build relationships, business ideas and you can even provide a monthly service at a discount for riders that transverse a particular route everyday and can collectively share a ride, you give random drivers the jobs and charge the riders a monthly fee for the service
I don't agree with you about Uber not making enough money, they have the market, but choose to play standard and here we are... everything works the other way in this country. Lately, I've read about moving Lagos for the rest of your life, it kind of come off in an insulting manner, but I ask myself, what if one choose to stick to transportation business for the rest of his life? The basic thing is making profits, expending. The way drivers are view in this country is 100% for the low life. This goes a long way to tell you we are not mentally ready. Do you blame the riders? No, every other factors contribute to this.

About passive wear out in vehicles and the roi on 2.5m car? If you invest 1m in a year, what's should be your expectation after 12 months? A normal business if not hypes will tell you 30% of profit after capital. Do ehailing drivers make more than that in a year? My learned colleagues should be able to answer this. The only comparison I see here is someone that invest 2.5 million trying to compare roi with someone that invest 80 million on other ventures. So it's normal for fixed factors to worn out, the focus should be making adequate return wrt human capital time, beacuse these is our lives and time spent is irreversible.

And about ride share? This has already been on the roll, some workers on the island have people they carry at price that is convenient for them and those you saw driving empty may do it for the prestige. They won't even give their coworkers a lift to tell you how they value their privacy. My point to you is riders are already bleeding with pricing and drivers need to build 1004 flats via ehailing. Take for instance, if a rider pays 7000 from mainland to island and back to mainland for 5 working days, that's 140k in a month and he/she may still use ehailing to church on Sundays, every other outing on saturday's. How much do you think they take homes as salary? The better chunck has gone to transportation and they still have wardrobe to take care. Now you wonder why ladies are the ones taking rides more.

There's a need to balance pricing and how many trips a driver can do in a day in other to keep his/her tools prep for long and health as well. There's really no gain in doing extreme cheap trips, but quality trips with good returns.

They remove VA.T does not mean they are paying, until they come clean about it. Walk with everything you have in this Lagos, so they don't use you as scape goat. Lagos is a crazy city, we survive by grace. At Berger bus stop, you will see Danfo stopping beside the bus stop to lift and drop passengers. Private cars will try it and RRS will pull out from no where.

Am I the only one having a hard time keeping up with this new “driver score” feature?

If you’ve not updated your app to show this, please just don’t!

We’re actually not ready for this kind of thing in nigeria coz riders cancel for the wrong reasons and don’t even read the options and select anything thereby affecting your driver score.

Sighs….
Lemme get my Uber app functional just in case.

Maybe Uber might’ve changed oh but I’m writing this with first hand knowledge that Uber system rotate rides.

You can try it by using someone close to you oh collect his/her phone install Uber rider app and request yourself you’ve got 90% chance at first trial that the request will come to you but second trial is 40% chance unless you’re the only driver in that community.

Uber systems works perfectly just that they haven’t started showing rider destination is just some cons about them
I beg to differ.

A new rider vs a new driver on the Uber app.

First request if everything remains constant... Like activity score and a good rider's rating the request will come to the driver closest to the rider.

2nd trial depends on the following conditions.

1. If the rider cancels the trip and makes another request he may not get the driver again, this depends in his reason for cancelling thw first time. I'd an experience yesterday at VI and this guy was going to magodo, he cancelled after the phone call that left me wondering why he did because I told him i was coming if not that it was a data call I would have called him back to ask why he cancelled... Even when I got to the PU I was there for some minutes it was another request to Ajah I later got from there.

2. If the 1st trip was carried out and the both of then rated themselves 5stars each there's a 100% assurance to also get the driver atbthe 2nd, 3rd and subsequent request anytime any day. I've experience on this sometimes early December last yr. The guy did 3 request.

1st was from Oba Akran to his residence in Adeniyi Jones

2nd was from his residence to a gas station to fill his gas cylinder

3rd was back home to drop the gas... He too was surprise why he kept getting me and I asked him how many stars he rated in the previous trips he said 5. You have your reasons I replied.

3. If any of you either driver or rider rates below 5stars the percentage assurance of getting each other again on the next trip is totally slim. I also had an experience some 2yrz ago with an India guy whom I took around island during his vacation. After our 1st ride he tried the 2nd but couldn't get me even when my activity score was at 98% it was later I check and noticed he rated me 3 or 4 stars... I just look am be like say make I kid.nap am dat day grin but India no dey get moneygringrin.

The major setback to Uber is their lack of listening ears to drivers complains about destination of the riders, this made a lot if drivers dumped their app for other apps and no rider will like to wait after several trials when they're in a hurry.

Ask pocochantis and pocochantas they now merge Bolt with Uber anyone that is closer or comes first.

Also, the Uber app will keep sourcing for a driver for the rider if the driver cancels from his end and by then the rider has gotten frustrated and left with bolt. This is why most times you got a request on Uber only for the rider to tell you I've already left ir gotten to where I'm going Pls cancel. I experience this on Monday.

Most times now self, Uber is cheaper reason beung that Bolt always have surge due to high demand so the broke ass switch to Uber.

If Uber likes let them work on their app if they like let not work on it... na them sabi... The 2% commission after 8 trip is a good trick to get back drivers and thereafter riders but it won't sustain the integrity of the app if all these loopholes are not fix because when the promotion ends everybody will be back to stethoscope

No mind them bro.
Anybody that points accusing fingers at you have poor sense of reasoning and low IQ.

You've been all out on cruise here from day one, and everyone knows that.
You've been attacked Severally, but you always find a funny way of handling it.
You've started so many violence here, but you've never accused anyone wrongly.
Even with all your pettiness, you've never been the 1st to attack anyone here.

This is a faceless forum, many have never met. So when people pick offense over another's comment, I see it as low self esteem.

So just be yourself like you've always been. You owe no one nothing.
You've been accused of being a little short man, a rental guy, an ant claiming LazyD, a briefcase, an instigator of war, but you never reacted in an aggressive/offensive way to any of it. Whether the accusations are true or false.
That's how every matured person should behave.

It is one (if not only) reason I like Pearl1910, even though I'm his major Antagonist here.

Shield if you can and want.
Go all out and attack anyone if you can and want.

No one is feeding you.
You are 100% right, Baz001 always finds a way to catch cruise

Na because of you I dey reply o.... So make I
I start. First and foremost I still do roughly 10k miles to 12k miles oil change on my civic. This is using good oil filter and Mobil Extended performance.....

Now the guy with Benz. Are u aware that his Benz was a converted Benz. Are u aware that he bought the Benz in Nigeria as a "Tokunbo" . And he has been doing many repairs and all types of operation on that Benz.... So am sure that car has had many issues before he bought it .......

And also don't be surprise if the engine is not the original that came with Benz. For him to get that Benz so cheap, it more than likely had engine issues and engine replacement was done in Lagos........

And also I banned him from buying engine oil from me. So I don't know where he got his own Mobil 1 oil from . And I also showed him Mobil 1 5w40 which he can use also ( pic) below. He can do 7k miles before oil change.

He thinks he knows it all . And I will still continue banning him from buying from me ... So good luck to him either way .......
Aah, well done sir. My mind no carry am so make I stick to my 7k OCI. I've been doing that to very great results.

That's the only deficiency.
Imagine, during this winter, uber has been offering 2% commission after 8 trips.
Very great incentive to buffer the effects of winter.

In addition to what you wrote, if you request yourself on uber, or attempt using the rider app while your driver app is running, your account will be flagged for fraudulent activity and you might be blocked for life or penalised by removing incentives from your driver account (e.g Felicity's case).

Just saw this
I think I'll support any effort put by the Nigeria government to clap down tye indriver app, yes! They're not paying the Lagos or Nigeria government forbthe services they re rendering can any foreign company try such in the Russian space? No!

Bolt and Uber are paying millions, levies and dues to the government for their operations and obeying the laws of the land e.g covid-19 so why should indriver be left out?

Let the statement give a directive to all telecom providers to block them from the Nigeria space since they don't have any office of operation here in Nigeria. To me they re operating illegally and milky from Nigeria without paying back even when they're receiving commission.

Had they continue to offer a free or 0% commission on their services then I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be taxed.

My take.
