ajabani4allah: The second one is just a relay, just a component/part in equipments. The first one will be good for your application. That's why it's already called an Automatic Transfer Switch. It also has the option/button to make it manual if you want to. But if price is an issue for you here, you can probably go for an only Manual Transfer Switch. That should set you back by about 7k.

Bolatitodavies: Those your "some lights", hope they are not CFL o? If yes, they should be changed to LED lights, 5w per light point should be adequate, less will be better. And how many of those lights do you have? Then your 75" TV, I hope it is LED TV and not Plasma TV. Even LCD TV which is in between the two, though still consumes, has less consumption than plasma. A 75w LED TV will consume nothing less than 140 watts at full blast. So I think you should look into activating the power saving mode of that TV. That should reduce the consumption to at least 40 watts depending on the manufacturer. Bolatitodavies: Those panels, are they Felicity brand? Is it possible for you to take a snapshot of the label and post here? |

Bolatitodavies:I use felicity too, and my batteries get fully charged although my setup is 24v with 2 luminous batteries and 340w x 8 solar panels. I'm still waiting for an adapter I bought to fully check if felicity can track daily harvest since its a clone of Pcm60x and has a RS232 port hidden inside the unit (not mentioned in the manual) 1 Like

Bolatitodavies:For my 340W*8 panels using same felicitysolar mppt I get about 1.3 kw in the afternoon. My soalr panels are very very dirty as it has not rained since last year October or November. Since my load is about 300w to 500w, I have not bothered cleaning the panels as the generated watts is sufficient. During raining season, I know I have hit about 2kw when the microwave and other loads were switched on. The major problem I've seen with felicitysolar mppt is it takes many seconds to switch from float to bulk and during that time the how power is been drawn from the batteries 1 Like |

thanks for the reply, the tv is led and on power saver mode generating only 92watts sef, my lights are led lights with 4watts each and about 4 -6 are regularly on. the panels are not felicity brands... and i dont think its canadian mono either but they are mono panels.... im lost like that, im a big novice with anger issues. when I was using light to charge, the 4 batteries always last me nothing less than 20-24hrs without any charge and i dont even allow it to fully deplete before switching off and i just installed the panels last week.... just this last week. paid through my nose sef ceaser: |

[quote author=Bolatitodavies Please, worry less about the charging status of your system and see how you can readjust your home appliances power consumption. I used a similar setup and wake up in the morning with 70% power left with my batteries. I made sure my night consumption, idle power consumption inclusive, do not exceed 200va. In this case, topping 30% even with bad weather and other opportunity loads will be very easy. Once you wake up in the morning to see 50% in your batteries, you'll be struggling to refill it (especially with bad weather and those that do not oversize their pv). Just as others had pointed out, try and clean up the panels, get timer or manually switch off the heavy loads appliances once the sunset. Oversize your pv if you've the cash but if you do not have the cash, management of loads can still give you daily battery float even with bad weather. Again, look for multimeter and measure the actual voltage of those batteries and focus more attention to management of loads in the house. 2 Likes |

Please who has used Felicity LifePO4 batteries? I'm currently using 2nr 10kw with my 5kva Growatts inverters. What is the voltage to set for bulk And the voltage for float. The user manual of felicity says 57.6v bulk and 57.6v float. So I set mine at 57v bulk and 56v float For some reason the Growatt inverter refuses to go beyond 56.6v for bulk and drops to 54.4v for float. Most times it drops to 54.3v during float phase.

Namzy: You mean you're using 340w x 8 panels (2720w) to charge 2 luminous batteries? I'm trying to imagine the type loads you use during the day that will be limiting the charging power of your batteries. Excess power/overcharge of the batteries is my concern here. Please, let me know your logic. |

isangjohnson:I oversized my panels for the rainy day. I know I'll be wasting power on some days but I can live with that. I'm saving up for lithium batteries. Using my hydrometer my 3 year old batteries are still healthy as the lowest percentage I've discharged them to is 70% 6 Likes |

Namzy: I also have a Felicity CC in action and I'm okay with it. The only problem is that it doesn't show daily harvest. I have gone round that with a data cable and a system that calculate the daily harvest from instant power. So, nothing do Felicity CC. |

ceaser: @ ceaser, ojeysky and others please, I need a user review on the thermocool inverter freezer as am interested in buying the 219IW model. 1, how good is the freezer? 2, how well does it retain frost? 3, how well does the compressor performed? 4, what is the minimum operation hour to attain frost? and 5, can this my inverter powers it as am not sure if it's pure sine wave?

isangjohnson: A decent cc should have a current limiter...he should simply set it to 30amps, the problem is..what if he wants to power his big loads on sunny days??...manually setting and resetting the cureent limiter would be tiring Bolatitodavies: Luminous inverter is a dumb inverter, its in same class as mustpower, vilpower, a power hog, felicity is only slightly better, cos it has editable battery voltage charge settings. But same power hogging attitude 3 Likes |

bbally:I got me the 319L inverter. bbally: Stuff is good. Been on it for about 14 months now. Still going strong. bbally:Quite well. As good as the regular freezers. Boasts 100hrs of retention post-light out. However it also freezes faster than the regular non-inverter freezers. bbally: Performs Well. The company has a 10 year warranty on the condenser. That shows how sure they are about their condenser. bbally: As it is with other freezers, that depends on a number of factors viz: > How frequently it is opened. > The quantity of items in it. The more the items, the longer it takes to freeze. > The initial temperature of the items loaded in it (warmer items will take longer time to freeze compared to if it works from an initial power outage) Mine is used in a shop to sell frozen items, which means a little frequent opening and closing. As such it takes longer to freeze. But when it works overnight, it usually attains adequate temperature by morning. And of course since the items are always frozen anyways, I don't need to note the minimum hours it takes to attain frost. Also one thing to note is that the best case scenario for its use will be inside the home where you may not even have to open the freezer more than trice daily. In that case, you're assured of great freeze at the specified power (watt) consumption. This is because in my own case where it is opened more frequently, the working consumption during daytime usually hovers far above the nameplate specified of 150w; hovers around 220w. But overnight when it isn't disturbed, it drops to around 170w, near the specified nameplate spec. I'm sure if left unopened for more than 24hrs, it will drop to sub 100w. bbally: Absolutely, as long as it is pure Sine Wave. 1000w is more than adequate. Inverter freezers do not have the initial surge current of non-inverter counterparts. So the freezer picks up slowly at around 50w and gradually ramps up the consumption to a high level. In fact you will also hear the sound of the engine as it slowly ramps up. Added Note: I doubt that your inverter in that picture is PSW. A lot of MSWs that I know assume that form factor. However you should test it to be sure of the type you're dealing with. 1 Like |

Bolatitodavies: You have not been able to show us your setup. Many things are involved: 1. Cable sizes/distance of installation 2. Angle/direction of installation 3. Wrong name plate of the panels. so it's not because it is Felicity. I just corrected wrong installation today with so many flaws. 1 Like |

Bolatitodavies: Hey boss, have you considered cleaning your panels? My panels were underperforming recently, but after cleaning it, my harvest increase by almost 100w. I stay in the suburbs of Lagos where houses are sparsely distributed, so it is easy for lots of dust to settle on surfaces. 1 Like |

carreport: Try increasing the bulk setting to 57.6v or even 58v and see if there would be a corresponding increase in what the growatt inverter does...sometimes, these differences are as a result of cable resistances or different equipment reading voltage differently, use a multimeter to double check as well |

ojeysky: @ceaser and @ojeysky I am so grateful for your response, you guys are magnanimous in your review and response. the issue there is I don't know how to test the waveform of the inverter to know if it's psw or msw as it powers all gadgets in the house (from washing machine to fan wherever it's needed) am considering buying either of the attached inverter picture when am buoyant. I hope either of them is good as psw and charging capability?
